It has been two weeks since demo began...

- Demo complete

- New (relocated) wall framed

- Rough electrical complete

- Gas line rerouted to new range location

- Rough plumbing complete

- Drywall installed and first mud coat floated

- Just heard cabinets are ready to be installed

Only a few bumps in the road...

- The drywaller installers started before the water line to refer was completed, which made life a bit more difficult for the plumber (imagine that - a problem because subs were working too quickly!)

- The cabinet maker did not explain a feature of a bookcase to me as well as I would have liked. After seeing the cabinets at the shop (my work is very close by) I've asked for some re-work on one cabinet. That will probably cost me a few hundy.

I'm crossing my fingers that drywall will be done early next week along with some wood flooring installation where the old peninsula used to be, and cabinet installation will begin.

So far I am very happy with my GC. He did an outstanding job sealing the work area from the rest of the house, he is doing a great job lining up all of the trades and all of his subs so far are doing quality work, he is here almost every day to see that everything is being done correctly, he answers all of my questions and returns calls.
