SO close yet SO far....... Pulls and knobs

Who would have EVER guessed there were 65739387342759 choices out in the world?????? My to do list is getting shorter but man I think it's also harder. I mean this stuff is in your face every.single.day. If it goes in and I don't really love it? TO bad. lol. I know, knobs are changeable. I'm stressing here! :)

So, I need to see your knobs and pulls. I've searched and found several but would love to see more. Especially if you haven't shown them or again if you want to show again since making your final decision :)

Here is what I'm working with. The scratched up stained piece are my perimeter cabs. Minus the scrapes and dings of course. To many months of hauling it in the car. The blue piece is the center island. Verde peacock granite on the perimeter and Fusion (shown) on the center. ORB hardware. Would love any input because seriously at this point I'm DONE and my eyes are crossed.

And you all are the only ones that understand. DH says just PICK ONE!!

Oh shoot I should have added, my contractor is really pushing, nicely of course, hand forged. And since he is the best GC in the world and I've fallen in love with him that will be what I look closest at.

And the granite in the last pic isn't the Peacock. That is my mud room craft/project island. Just showing a close up of the cabinets.

Been there. Crossed eyes and all. You should probably include budget parameters as well. I REALLY liked dealing with this company. I actually had to overnight them after a terrible experience with Restoration hardware and can't wait til they get here tomorrow. All of their products are very high quality and made in USA, France, England, etc. There is no part of the hardware made in China, Taiwain, etc, and no worries about lead being used. You will pay for the quality, but based on the other choices you've shown in your kitchen, you'll excuse me if I think you're the type who doesn't mind paying for quality.

I thought these would look pretty on your cabinets. They also have hand forged options

Randy, you can move them out of the small containers whenever you want. Judy (www.butterflynature.com)never takes hers out of containers, only graduates to larger containers. I just like to wait for them to get a lil size to them, so that it is easier to find them in the larger enclosures. The larger that they get, the more they eat, the larger the frass (poop), and the more they poop! Are your milkweed leaves growing larger? You will need to get larger cuttings, and more of it, as the cats grow depending how they eat. When I move them to the larger enclosures, I put the mw cuttings in the ziploc containers with the water oasis inside the container, and drill holes in the lids to put the mw cuttings in. You don't want the holes too large for the cats to crawl down into the holes, and drown. :( I like to set the containers close to the screen of the enclosure. The Monarch cats like to crawl onto the screen when they are ready to change instars (shedding their skin). Sounds like you and Amber are doing an "excellent" job on 1st time raising Monarch caterpillars!!! Way to go!!! We thank you, and the Monarchs thank you. :) I am getting low on native mw. I keep hoping that more will pop up any day. Perhaps, with the 70 degree days that they are predicting the next 3 days? I have found that the cats found on swamp mw are more willing to go to the Trop. mw once they get a lil size to them. The ones that I've found on the Showy mw have not adapted to the Trop. mw at all. They've been dying on me. Don't know if it has anything to do with the toxicity of it??? Keep us posted.

divamum, it was crazy fast, once it finally got rolling! I sat with a big empty box of a room for about three weeks waiting for the cabinet guy. But once he started installing, that meant Joshua could come put in my soapstone, and everything else just fell into place very quickly. I went from NOTHING to almost everything in literally 48 hours. I think that, by the end of this week, I'll be done with everything in the kitchen, except of course the backsplash! :) malhgold, the range is an Aga Legacy--and the gas is finally turned on!! Woohooo!! Wouldn't you know it, though, I have to teach tonight and then I'm going out of town for two days, so I won't be able to actually cook on it until Friday. Ugh!! fern4, the wood is cherry in a natural finish. Thanks so much for the McIntyre link. There are some beautiful options there. I will have to spend some time perusing! plllog, one of my first choices was a pale green glass tile with a little cobalt glass thrown in for accent pieces. I may have to revisit that. If I can find the pics again, I'll post them. I'm loving these suggestions. Sometimes my head gets stuck on one thing and, even though I know it's not what I want, I can't move past it. This is really helping me think outside my self-imposed box.

If you have other Targets within driving distance you could have your store check on the computer to see if they are available and where. Target has a policy where they will do a 24 hr. hold on items. I live about an hour from the Dallas area, so it is great when I am looking for something. There are countless stores very close to me. Setting aside "who wins", the look that your man wants of white cabinets with glaze is dated. If you said you both loved it, I would say it doesn't matter that glazed white cabinets have been dated for several years now. But you don't both love it. The problem with glazing white cabinets, besides being dated, is that unless it's done really well, it crosses the line into looking affected and fake, and then a few years down the road, may make your cabinets look prematurely shabby. To avoid that, and still have glazed white cabinets, you would need to have a real expert do the glazing, which will cost a lot. So that should take care of the cabinet finish decision. For the door style decision, I would ask the store for sample doors of the two styles, take them home, and see how the two styles look in your kitchen. It is amazing how seeing something in place in real life, rather than just a picture, can make your mind up.

Have you looked at options from both sun valley bronze and rocky mountain hardware? Both hand forged in us bronze. White chapel are brass - very nice build quality and finish as well but stamped vs forged. Samples from both Rocky mountain Hardware and Sun Valley Broze were hands down nicer. We ended up ordering ones from Sun Valley and are awaiting their arrival. We didn't have a dealer closer than 4 hrs to is so they shipped us samples of the ones we were interested in. Very nice to have them in the space and really compare. I'd say you do really need to lay hands on them too - there were ones from Hamilton sinkler we briefly considered before we held them - yikes! Flat on back and felt awful! Good luck in your search

I knew you all would understand and not think I am just being "difficult" :) I love it here!

magsnj I haven't heard of that one, will definitely look. Nothing from China is definitely a plus. Those are very pretty! This is hopefully our forever home, and since we are in our mid50s it should last lol. And yes, we are very blessed to be able to not worry to much about staying in budget. In fact, DH hates a budget :) And while I was hoping to stay under $50 I'm not tied to that number.

holly-kay I think Schaub is on my contractors list he gave me. I just haven't made it to the Ss yet. You've been just ahead of me throughout all of this, so you give me hope lol.

katy-lou I have looked thru Rocky Mtn hardware several times! I've got a couple of maybes saved there. Just nothing reached out and grabbed me yet. I will check out Sun Valley also.

I thought choosing pulls would be easy - Ha!

There's nothing like having samples to hold in your hand and hold up to your cabinet. One of my samples came with a little plastic bracket that clipped the pull to the door, so I could stand back and look at it.

I went to the big box stores and bought one of anything I thought might possibly work, then held them up to the door sample. I looked at tons of sample boards at lots of kitchen places. I also looked hard at display kitchens all over, because sometimes something that looks good as just one is too much if there are a lot of them. I have raised panel doors, as you do, and I ended up preferring a relatively simple pull and knob. They don't fight with the lines of the cabs and the grain of the wood.
