Sure! Here is the small pendant (7" diameter).

My opinion only, and I'm not a professional decorator...I prefer the look of two lights versus three in general and especially because of your hood. If you like the look of the smaller one better, use that one. I have seen quite a variety in terms of size of pendants in relation to island size, so anything goes. Although I'm sure there is probably a "rule of thumb". But as long as you like the way it looks...nothing else really matters.

On a gut feeling, I would go three smaller pendants. Mainly because I like the style of the smaller pendant better and I think you need three lights on a 7 foot island. It seems more balanced. I'm getting ready to put two small pendants over a 5 foot peninsula.

Oh I love both these lights! The smaller one has a more feminine shape to me, the larger one just seems tougher... my husband likes the big one and I like the small one. Do you mind me asking where you found these?

Time to hang some balloons on a string. Get you some smaller ones and larger ones and start experimenting with number and heights for both sizes. It's easier than guessing.... :)

@deedless - LOVE that suggestion but it is a little hard since the space isn't built out yet. I was buying the lights early since they are on sale right now.

This are great lights! If you feel like they block your hood, you could opt for something glass. Since these are metal, the light will be directed downward... So you may need 3 to get enough light...

Thanks Spotty! I didn't think of that. I don't really know if overlapping the hood would look bad or if it doesn't really matter. I currently have a galley kitchen, and this is the first time I am designing a kitchen with an island.

Rebecca...my kitchen is a similar layout with an island and a hood...here are my glass lights..hung at different heights. They will provide alot of light throughout the room, yet won't block the pretty hood.

You could still do deedle's mock up suggestion. Just get some cardboard boxes and "build" your island. Then the string and balloons over the mock island.
