breezygirl - your Hansgrohe faucet is similar in look to the Delta Trinsic. Did you look at the Trinsic? I think I like the Hansgrohe one better!

Mine is Brizo. Prep sink looks exactly the same but shorter in height. Mine is ORB, but I'm pretty sure its available in chrome and it's definitely available in SN.

I fell in love with the Hansgrohe from a magazine kitchen and knew it was a good brand so just decided that was my faucet. I did, however, look at other faucets, probably just about everything from every brand you can find online, about a year ago when I found out that the Hansgrohe didn't have a hold feature for the sprayer. I really, really wanted something with simple lines, no curvy who-whos or extraneous bumps, etc. I also knew I wanted a pulldown with the control stick built in so everything was contained in one place with one hole.

Anyway, when I started to look again I went back to the plumbing supply showroom to see some IRL. After touching a few chrome faucets, I ruled out several brands as they weren't really metal, but silver plastic. Delta was one brand I ruled out. Apparently, faucet manufacturers have begun value engineering their products and metal must be expensive. Many aren't real metal nowadays. My old kitchen had a Delta, and it wasn't plastic. But it was purchased 11 years ago. A Delta today is not nearly the same quality from 11 years ago, at least in my experience.

In the end and after ruling out silver plastic faucets, I didn't find anything I liked as well as the Hansgrohe at that price. I could have found one if I was willing to spend hundreds more $. How's that for an answer? ;)

This is my Grohe Bridgeford in chrome. You just put it back in and give it a little twist as it does not auto retract. You have to hold down the button while using the spray. I find it easy to maneuver and it's very pretty, I'm happy with it. I think there are several models I would enjoy having though. Lots of good stuff out there. Good luck!

I have a Hansgrohe Swing. It appears very similar to breezygirl's. Have had it for 2+ years and love it. I had our plumber install the button on the backside, because I didn't want to see it. It actually works well this way, as I use my fingers to press. Guess I would have used my thumb if it were in the front.

Hiedigo, thanks for the timely question! I happened upon this post just after searching the internet for 4 hours straight looking for pull down faucets.

I like the look of the arc faucets, but the height seems SOOO high! Do you just get used to it?

Anyway, I was thinking about the Hansgrohe Metro, but because you can't lock the spray function, I ruled it out.
Instead, I was thinking either the Moen Level or Lindley. Does anyone have a picture of these?

abfabama, my concern was like yours--that the arc seems so high and wonder if that will continue to bother me or if I'd get used to it.

Co-co, the Delta Saville is the one I have in my LR this moment that I'm worried about being too "in my face." Thanks for your picture. That helps. I think I'm just used to my 33-year-old skinny faucet.

Is a pull-out a no-no?

Delta Talbot 16968 SSSD-DST..comes with soap dispenser. Cost was $200 or so..

So far it's been just great. It feels very substantial in my hand, and the magnetic docking keeps it from looking sloppy.

I love the high arc because I can put my entire tall kitchen trash can in my sink and clean it with the faucet.

Pull down is much better than a pull out in my opinion...I have had both.

Brizo is Delta's premium line. They have some pretty things. To your question about the high arc and do you get used to it my answer would be yes to that. The reason I chose the Grohe Bridgeford was because it didn't seem as big as the others and the arc not as tall. They do come in all sizes in the different lines and some even in the same faucet!

nhbaskets what a great idea to have your plumber put the faucet in backwards so that the push spray button is on the back. Aren't you clever!!! I have one in my laundry room and should have done that, it looks nicer without it showing to the front. The things I learn on GW!!!

Since you're looking at Moen models, I have had the Moen Aberdeen for 3 years now and really love it (sorry, don't know why it looks like the Leaning Faucet of Pisa in this shot, it's perfectly straight):

We're going with stainless, because the sink and the handles on the cabinets will be stainless. I wish I could have lived with Chrome, because the price is so much better that we could have gotten a lot more expensive faucet for the same money we paid for this one.

The successful functioning of a faucet is about the washers. The washers are what keeps it from leaking. The washers should be high quality ceramic. Unfortunately I have had horrible experiences with both Delta and Moen for residential projects and commercial projects. Both failed after five years. Maybe it's bad luck, but I wouldn't buy them again.

The higher quality faucets, Grohe, etc, cost in the $900 range and up. Seems crazy, but that's where I'm going with my next faucet decision.

we installed the arbor model (#7594csl) (MUST get the new model with 'reflex technology"-- same number-- should have a sticker on the box and info inside that says "reflex." every time i use it, i smile to myself that we made the right choice. i have never had a faucet that returned this well. also pulls and rotates so easily. i didn't care that it has a 'pause' feature on the spout-- my d.h. wanted this feature-- but have grown to love it. great for washing the dog-- or for hitting the counter for a quick spritz in just the right direction. the only thing i don't like is the same with all pullout faucets that hang straight down (instead of out, then down, like the old ones)-- that is that they tend to come down to the sink bottom with more force and splash more than non pull-outs. post your pick, when you get it!

Some sprayers put out so much water, but this one puts out the perfect amount. It wasn't cheap but it was something I was willing to sacrifice something else for...
