Show me your traditional faucet with your firestone sink

I am trying to find a faucet that will not cost as much as my sink, but still be of a great quality. I have Python soapstone counters with the 30x18 Rohl's Shaw sink in white. My cabinets will be painted a putty color. Most of the hardware in the kitchen will be of an ORB type (not the brownish kind, but the very deep color that has the brassy/coppery toned rubbed through).

To make it complicated, I do not want to to ORB for the faucet against the soapstone, and I am thinking that a "rustic" or burnished pewter would look best. I would prefer a single handle design I think, but I love the look of the bridge faucets. Also, the sink is in the peninsula, and the faucet will face diners on the stools on the other side, and will be visible from the whole dining room and kitchen. So it has to be really pretty!

Above the peninsula will be my mercury glass shade pendants.

sabjimata- unfortunately that supplier does not have the type of finish I am looking for.

I am hoping someone has a beautiful faucet that would look good in an island/peninsula with a firecaly farm sink?

Oooh, many thanks to you all. I love pictures! Bring on as many pictures as you can! :) Claire, my American Standard Collection pedestal just arrived yesterday, and I'm hopping with impatience to get it unpacked and installed after seeing yours. There's just something about an oval sink that's so appealing (esp for clumsier types like me! I currently have the Kohler Memoirs pedestal in my rental, and that darned pointy-square edge just loves a certain bruisable spot on my thigh). I have ordered a faucet from Restoration Hardware in antique nickel -- will take a good look at it to see if I prefer that finish or the polished. If I go with polished, I do love the Porcher faucets - mrslimestone, they're gorgeous. I have the Porcher Archive toilet, and it's really lovely. Keep 'em coming.

Thank you, weedy! That was helpful to see... MrsLimestone's bathroom is beautiful, and the shelves work well for her. I'd really like the bigger faucet though. I'm starting to think I need to reassess the sink - I'd like to find a wall-mount sink that has enough space behind or to the sides of the faucet to stash a couple of items so I don't need the glass shelf. Then I can fit whatever faucet I like. I wonder if such a sink exists... OR get one of those small marble or granite counters on metal legs (no vanity) with an undermount sink. That would give me lots of countertop room (at the expense of a smaller sink bowl). They're really beautiful, but expensive! I was just quoted $800 for the legs and $600 for the countertop today. (The sink was mercifully cheap at under $100.)

@Laura517: I'm not Bee, but I've had great luck shining Chrome with a slightly damp Costco paper towel. Also works great for a streak-free shine on glass! As long as you don't get lime scale, easy peasy. @beekeeperswife: your Brizo Solna looks identical to my Delta Trinsic! I've seen similar looking faucets, but this is ridiculous! Even the spray pattern is identical.

I don't have my sink (soapstone, but also apron front) installed yet, but I like farm sinks with bridge faucets. Though it does depend on the rest of your decor. This is the one we are getting, It's the Grohe Bridgeford: I'm sure you'll get pics from people here, but in the meantime if you google image results for "apron sink" you'll see lots of different faucet options.

The Kohler Vanetta comes in several different finishes. This is the larger of the two in this style. I love the pull down sprayer. Our kitchen lights are ORB, cabinet hardware is dark antique brass and all the faucets are chrome. I think it is a very attractive faucet. It swivels 360 degrees if your diners ever want a drink, lol.

cotehele- That one is pretty. I have been trying to find something in a rsutic/weathered pewter finish, which has been pretty tricky, so I am starting to rethink. I definately don't want to do the ORB on the ss countertop, and I wonder what everyone would think about doing a finish to go with the mercury glass shade, which will be above the faucet.

So what would look best, chrome, polished nickel, stainless, or brushed nickel?
