subway tile and beadboard

If I don't do uppers all the way to the counter, I am considering getting a "furniture" effect by putting simple corbels (brackets, really) on either side of the cabinets that curve in and end where the counter meets the wall. Inside the brackets between the counter and the upper would be beadboard (to match the beadboard island - thanks Paulines!). However, I am planning a subway tile backsplash and I was thinking of tiling the entire wall, not just a little bit above the range and countertop (with the cabinets going to the ceiling, there won't be a huge amount of wall left anyway.) Here is my question: do you think the beadboard plus subway tile is getting too busy? I was hoping to minimize the number of different treatments in the kitchen, but as they would both be white, maybe the different textures would add interest.
