Has anyone used Jerusalem tile (limestone) on their backsplash?
Comments (12)I have Jerusalem Gold 4 x 4s done in September 2006. I love my kitchen but i've been thinking the wide grout lines and 4x4s make it a little dated. The designer and the tile guy worked out the grout lines. Maybe because mine is tumbled they needed to be this wide. It's mixed with Red Limestone 2x2s and bronze glass tile 1x1s. I didn't seal it or enhance it since I liked it the way it is. Here is a link that might be useful: finished kitchen blog sue_b...See MoreInserts for Travertine Durango Cream backsplash?

Comments (7)I know what you mean by not trying to match. Some of us are fine with backsplashes and/or granite with the WOW fator. After having so much trouble, as you are with the backsplash, I am happy I have a classic neutral. What I like about the Grazia Rixi is that when they are installed they give the illusion of a handmade tile. So, you get a bit of uneveness between the tiles. I understand what you mean about the glass and I looked into it too. I was advised against it because of my traditional cabinets and oak floor. But if your cabinets have a modern feel, the glass might work. I spoke to so many tile people! I think they like the glass because it comes in so many colors that you are bound to find one that will meet your needs. But, you have to really like the look of it. Good luck and keep us posted. Comments (2)Home Depot has a pretty good selection its not with caulk its with the grout, usually. Look at the big ends of the tube usually some has smeared and dried, there you can get a good idea of the final color. You should be able to get something that will go nicely. To keep it from smearing into the grout on the wall i put a strip of blue painters tape along the wall about 1/8 " away from the joint. I prefer thinner caulk lines you could go a little further away if you wanted a wider line....See More- 15 years ago
