Best HD steam cleaner for tile and grout?

My kitchen is completely finished asides from cleaning the grout and tile. The grout is bad, so bad that I was not exactly sure exactly what color it started out as even before I remodeled the house.

I was was going to have Stanly Steamer come clean it but I am starting to wonder if I should buy a heavy duty steamer instead, it would probably be cheaper since I have 7 different rooms with tile.

I have found several post on steam cleaning dirty tile but I don't think a little inexpensive cleaner will do any good and I have 800+ sq/ft to clean. I tried a steam mop but it didn't do anything. Does anyone have any experience with something a little more commercial grade?

I'm very doubtful that a steam cleaner will return your grout to its original color. I've always found that I needed a grout brush, a good cleaner, and a lot of elbow grease to remove grime from grout, and even then, it doesn't look new. I can't imagine that steam alone would remove built up grime.

I would suggest renting a steamer from a rental yard (or Home Depot's tool rental department) to see if it gives the result you want before investing in a piece of equipment.

I don't know about other places, but around here the grout "cleaning" services actually usually replace the old grout with epoxy grout.

There are steam cleaners that extract water, but they are intended for carpeting. And they are very pricey. The concept of steam cleaning is that very little water is used, so there is no need to suck the water back up. You may be looking for something like the Hoover H3060 FloorMate SpinScrub 800. It sounds wonderful, but I don't think it gets good reviews from homeowners. For one thing, it doesn't heat the water that goes into the machine. Is your grout sealed? Bill, I assume you're referring to the Mira Clean #1 link above. I did a bit of checking online and it looks like there is a building place in a city not too far from where I live that sells Miracle products so I'll have to give them a call. Your link says that the product only has a shelf life of one year so it'll have to buy accordingly. I used the ST Revitalizer this weekend and it's pretty easy to use in our smallest bathroom and seemed to clean the floor well without any steaking, unpleasant or chemically smell, etc. Thanks again!

Ok...so let me get this straight. You laid a VINYL tile floor and added VINYL TILE GROUT to the seams (to give it that realistic look). You were unable to clean the grout haze off of the tiles and now, several weeks later, you are looking for a fix to the haze? The vinyl tiles and vinyl grout products are different (in chemistry and in use) than a 'regular' grout. You will want to reach out to the manufacturer of BOTH products (tile and grout) to find out what can and CANNOT be used to deal with this issue.\ For each chemical (like the vinyl tile grout) there is an 'undo it' chemical. The tricky part is when the 'undo' product is NASTIER than the first chemical. In other words, the cure may be worse than the disease. Please reach out to TEC and ask about a stripping chemical. Then reach out to the vinyl tile manufacturer and ask if that chemical is allowed over their tile. Go from there.

I have a Sargent Steam. It generates steam at about 300 degrees. It works very well, but I'm not sure I use it often enough to justify the initial cost. I find that it's easiest to use if I have a rag or sponge in one hand and the steamer in the other. The brushes and sponges attached to the steam nozzle are awkward for me to use in our many tight spaces. (We live in a small Victorian house.) But grease and deposits on tile come rolling off. I also have the steam pressure iron accessory, which is amazing.
