Help! Backsplash needed
Comments (149)That Sonoma looks nice. It looks kind of edgy, in a good way & appears to be a small size. How big was the Crema Marfil? I think the smaller format is the way to go, whether a diamond, a square or a curve. It took us awhile to get there but.....the lightbulb finally turned on. At 150 posts, we'll have to start a new thread. If you could start it & include the pics of your kitchen, your light fixtures, cabinet hardware, a link to this thread & any pictures in this thread that are contenders or inspiration pics you still like. This has been fun (probably not as much for you). This post was edited by romy718 on Thu, Sep 25, 14 at 20:02...See MoreMichelew90's backsplash quest
Comments (150)By "mistake" does that mean one cannot get it in that combination? Edited to add that somewhere up above I asked if anyone knew what the background back splash material was on a website. I like it for another project, but the colors in this versions struck me as relevant to Michele's project, if not the pattern. So, I thought I would post what I discovered. It is Walker Zanger Sonja, and I think it contains Nero Marquina marble combined with stained glass. Comments (129)A bit under the weather, but trying to catch up. What is still in the running? Michele has said no or only a simple liner as a modern element, right? That means no Imola, correct? I liked some of their glassy-looking liners like Broccato *B, Nuance 1T. I guess the milk glass and metallic glasses are out, too. I like the Wyndam, but it does skew traditional, which goes with the hardware, although is a bit in conflict with the granite. The crushed glass decos (Sonoma at Tues, 10/14@1:34, Encore Precocious, etc.) can go more modern, but I believe they've been ruled out? Plain diagonals work, but aren't much of a statement and I don't see them as looking like the were meant to be rather than a default. As for colors, I'm to the point where I would need to see them IRL before commenting further. I am pretty sure I understand the colors of your granite, but not those of the tiles. Edited to add: On the Sonoma Tile site, which does not allow photocopying, this may interest you. Please scroll through the link to images 2,3,5, and 11. Comments (23)Thank you so much for the input - and the links - it's so helpful to see what others have done. I'm thinking you are correct may_flowers; I was feeling pretty good about the simple, cream-tone I brought home, but then, as I said, hubby wasn't so sure, and others made suggestions. I'm leaning back toward simple. While I appreciate the beauty of the many kitchens on the site, we had a focus on functional and simple. Will hopefully reach a decision by the end of the year, and can post final pictures then. There are several 'little things' that will hopefully be corrected by then as well....See Moremichelew90
