Best dish towels
Comments (33)Make sure any towel you get is 100% cotton. It blows my mind how many polyester towels I see these days. Polyester is a non-absorbent material, ie. it repels water! You'd think people would know better. I have had a lot of luck with Williams-Sonoma's classic waffle-weave towels. Looking at the comments, it seems others have, too. I've had mine for several years and they've barely faded. They are quite thick; if you prefer something thinner a good cotton flour-sack towel works wonderfully, also. Whatever you get, wash it a couple of times before putting it into circulation. The plants that make textiles load 'em up with all kinds of chemicals, some of which can affect absorbency....See MoreDrawer pull instead of hand towel ring
Comments (8)I did this in the guest/kids bath when we remodeled a couple years ago. I have a double sink vanity in there and the drawer pulls are the traditional bar pulls. I have two 9" pull outs( similar to a bottle/spice pull out in a kitchen) that I keep shampoos lotions etc. in. Mounted at the top I put 8 3/4" bar pulls at the top. The spread between screw holes is about 6 1/2". It is perfect to put a handtowel on and works great right next to the sink. The great thing is that since it is a pull out-the towel doesn't interfere with any other drawers underneath opening and getting shut. I hope that makes sense. I would post pics, but not sure how....See Moretowel warmers - bar vs. drawers
Comments (8)We just put in Runtals and I am HOOKED. They are absolutely fabulous. On timers in both baths -- they are on and the towels toasty warm before I start my bath. The biggest plus (besides the luxury of a warm towel) is how quickly they dry the towels. We are in a humid climate in the summer and I am so looking forward to NOT having damp towels every day (ours never used to fully dry out). They are VERY hot on the high setting -- we never use it and I would be concerned, perhaps, if I had small children toddling around the bathroom -- but we keep ours on the middle setting and love, love, LOVE the luxury! We keep two big bath towels and a hand towel on them (I had some concerns about how many towels could be warmed effectively at once but our towels are big and all fit just fine). Cannot recommend Runtal highly enough....See MoreBest place to hang the hand towels in the kitchen?
Comments (17)louiseize - I haven't decided if I will mount it directly to the underside of the back cabinet frame or vertically on the very top of the wall fairly close to the upper cabinet yet. We hate damp towels in a laundry basket, etc and want them to be throughly dried before it's crumpled waiting for the wash. This way, it'll be near my tile backsplash instead of inside or up against my cabinet fronts. Planning to use as a day-to-day approach. For formal entertaining, would just not use it....See Moreplllog
