No. Or, I should say, blue cork flooring might be dated, but natural cork has been stylish for 20 years now, and isn't fading yet. That sounds pretty classic to me.

Depends on how knowledgeable realtors/buyers are. When I was looking for a realtor to list my place in 2006, one realtor looked at my brand new kitchen cork floor and emphatically said, "Dated!"

LOL! Fori, I don't think it's spring-ness. I think it's that I can't remember how to count higher!

My friend did her floors in cork and that was about 4 years ago. I have to say that it has not held up that well - I think it needs regular re-sealing (which maybe they didn't do?) and it is very scratched up looking. I think I prefer the look of a worn wood floor to what she has.

Dated? My parents had cork flooring in a house they built in 1955!!! Totally mid-century modern and still looks great today. My daughter wants all their Danish modern furniture; it's classic.

Fori, my dogs won't purposely destroy the floor, but they are large and they do wrestle. That's normal wear and tear for me.

Cork is a classic choice. The house I grew up in had cork floors when it was built in 1955.

The condition of the floors would probably affect potential buyers more.

Another person who grew up in a home with cork flooring, which my parents built from 1953-55. We never lived with a dog, but had a cat, and the cork flooring held up beautifully. I certainly don't consider it dated, and seriously considered it for my kitchen when I remodeled in 2005, but the flooring flow didn't support that choice.

I have cork flooring. I also have 6 cats and a dog. The flooring has been in for 2 years now in a high traffic area and looks brand new. I don't think it will ever look dated.

Seal it properly to begin with and then it will hold up well.
I have installed cork and although I only have 3 cats (no dogs) it looks wonderful 8 months later. Looks brand new

I think condition will be more of an issue than the type of flooring. With that in mind, I have decided to shy away from darker color cork because the color does not go through the tile--it sits on the surface, and I think scratches will be more noticeable. I have friends that have had cork floors for over 12 years and I think they look pretty classic.

I think simple, natural choices (like cork) never go out of style. They may be in the spotlight more in some years than other years, but always classic in my opinion. Plus, they seriously feel so great!

Another vote for timeless cork. My grandmother had in her kitchen from 1962 onward, and it still looks brand new today.

Meaning, they look cool and they're stylish, but I really don't think they're associated with a particular trend or time period.

I think as long as you stay away from some of the colored stains or wilder patterns, it will be quite timeless. We replaced all ourW2W carpet with cork 15 months ago. We have two dogs and a cat and are NOT careful with our floors. It has held up beautifully.

I will add, though, that it will fade in sunlight. So if you have a lot of light in any particular area (big sliders or french door) you might want to look into some coating film for the glass, or just deal with the fade.
