One more time - Finished Kitchen pics!!! :)

Hello All! Trying this one more time....sorry for the picture problems earlier. I am computer challenged, to say the least!! Thanks to all of you who responded to my calls for picture help.

I am finally ready to post my almost finished kitchen. I am missing a few small trim pieces, my husband needs to paint the window trim, and I could use some curtains, but I am calling it done!!

Here are a few details:

Perimeter cabinets - custom made by local cabinet maker, knotty cherry with medium stain, black glaze.

island - custom maple, painted cream, umber glaze

Granite - Sienna Bordeaux

Backsplash - Miro Marble Mosaic series, in the creme travertine

Dishwasher, double oven, warming drawer, built in 48 inch fridge - Kitchenaid Architect II series

cooktop - Electrolux Icon 6 burner electric slide in

Sink - copper undermount from Copper Sinks Online

Faucet - Kohler Vinnata in ORB

cabinet hardware - Top Knobs, rust, various types

Floors - Mannington engineered hardwood in Maple - Allspice

Beautiful. Very warm-looking. I love the knotty cabinets and the glass cabinets. Great choice of granite too. Congratulations.

Hi! I read your post and it sounds somewhat like our situation (though no accusations about affairs or anything--just unsupervised children!) Anyway, since we moved to our home with a 2 year old, and another on the way, I insisted that if we did nothing else to our landscaping, we needed to install a fence! Since our neighborhood was somewhat established, and none of our bordering neighbors had fences, we opted for a split rail fence with a green mesh exterior--which is nearly invisible against the grass and landscaping. This design allowed us to "pen" our child(ren) in, keep the neighbors kids and dogs out, and it was subtle enough so as not to look like a "spite" fence. Once the fence was up, we then planted a mixed row of Rose of Sharon, smallish arborvitaes, along with roses, and barberries (the thorns are also helpful in the fight against would-be entruders!!! LOL!) The other nice thing about this kind of fence is that is CAN be temporary and removed after other plantings fill in, and it is one of the least expensive fencing designs, and both the mesh and individual timbers can easily be replaced if needed. We were able to fence in a relatively large 1/2 acre back yard for about $4000--it may sound a bit expensive, but it was WORTH EVERY PENNY!!! Just something to consider! Good luck!

Good afternoon! I recieved a fabulous box from Trina yesterday!!! Here is what she sent me: Southern Living Cookbook- So many great recipes in here!! I still haven't looked at everything! I love it!! Southern Living magazine Birdhouse Writing Tablet & Envelopes Matted & Framed Cross stich that says, Welcome Enter with a warm Heart. Did you make this Trina? Either way, I love it. It already has a home on my wall! Set of 4 Kitchen Towels (The Food Network) in beautiful colors, LOVE them! Set of 4 Kitchen Scrub Cloths (also The Food Network) I will get plenty use out of these! Oven Mitt with Silicone ( The Food Network) LOVE this also!! Cinnamon/Red Doile- Beautiful, its under a boquet of intense purple amaranth and Maximilum. Inside the doile were 2 beaded-handle spoons that are bent in a hook shape..I've never seen these before, but I'm using them to keep my towels in place on my oven door handle. (lol, Am I even close as to what these are for? I feel like a dummie) I do love them though!! and last but not least, a bag of mixed color Tulips. Thanks for all of the comments. Looks like no middle of a road for this topic!! I was all ready to switch to the positive reveal and my DH looked at the sink options and liked the negative. Since DH has been trying to pretend that the kitchen remodel didn't exist and I had to pry any opinions out of him - decided to go with his choice on this one. Positive feedback for giving an opinion - maybe DH will be more into the rest of the choices. Fouram - Great link! Loved that all sinks gather gunk! (or not) Badger - thanks for the picture!! Liri - I hope I don't regret the choice! Peony - thanks for the close up picture - of course, my day would have been better if I didn't know there was a choice and it was just installed!!

Marose, that is my all-time favorite inspiration kitchen! I actually chose Gray Owl because of that kitchen! And it is the main reason why I wanted the beadboard to match the cabs. But she has other things going on in her kitchen that make that choice to be a good one. I am still drawing significant inspiration from her room to finish off my dining room. I have narrowed TEN good color choices down to two, in addition to the option of Gray Owl. I am taking the "white" off the table. I am not sure the new ones will photograph well, but I will give it a try! Tomorrow!

there is so much to love about your kitchen! I love the way the corner cabs come down and the way the angles play against the curves. The granite is BEAUTIFUL!!

It was worth the wait for the photos, Susan205. Your kitchen is beautiful!

It's warm and inviting. I particularly like the corner cabinet with the TV, wine rack and microwave. Love it!

I'm so glad you were able to post your pictures because your kitchen is great! You've done a few things I haven't seen before. Specifically the angled cabinetry with the built-in microwave, wine slots and flat screen and pull-outs below. So nicely done and a beautiful focal point. The other angled glass cabinet and china hutch are also lovely and unique. Your granite is stunning and the copper sink looks great with it. You've done a great job!

Thanks all! The corners were definitely a design challenge. I had weird corners for the lowers before, with windows above. See the below before pics.

My KD and cabinet maker worked wonders to make the corners beautiful and useful, with no wasted space. I also have another pic of the one corner which is the coffee cabinet - opened.

Julie - Yes, I love SLAH!!!
Sylace - My island (the granite) is 90"x 52". The overhang is 12 inches from the end of the corbels. The lights are 9" wide at the bottom of the glass. They are the Bela collection from Lamps Plus.

I'm not sure how I missed this post. Your granite is incredible, and the corbels on the island are so charming. I also like the flip of the stained perimeter, painted island. Very nice.
