A few soapstone Q's

Hi,

Thanks to all who contributed to questions about soapstone in my galley kitchen.

I love the look of soapstone and have no problem with the oiling, love the natural patina, etc. Because I don't know anyone with a soapstone counter, I am wondering how it looks on a day-to-day basis -- does it show all the crumbs, grease, etc. (due to the dark color) and must it be wiped every second to look clean? I have three messy kids ...

Also, I am going with off-white painted cabinets. I have wood floors throughout the house, and so wanted something a little different in the kitchen. It's small -- so now I am worried that a floor tile will be too "hard" with the soapstones on the counter -- and will compete. Thinking of linoleum ... any ideas?

Thanks!

Shadey
