Where to buy open shelves?

I have looked at countless kitchens with beautiful wood shelves and all sorts of corbels from plain to fancy. I have a picture wall where I'd love to hang a series of the shelves. Finished or ready to paint. Can anyone tell me where I might find them? Thanks.

p.s. Construction starts Tuesday~

Your kitchen designer and installer usually custom designs and creates whatever you want to match your cabinets from cabinet components available in the line's catalog, usually with corbels that match the cabinets also. That's done at the design phase so the materials can be ordered when the cabinets are ordered.

If you want something that doesn't match, you need to identify what material it is that you want first of all. There's stainless shelving, wood shelving, wrought iron shelving, etc. What do you want it to look like? Do you have inspiration pictures?

Some advantages of ventilated shelving: 1. Ventilation. Items on these shelves have air circulating around them, helping keep them fresh. 2. Dust doesn't settle on wire shelves as much as it does on plywood. 3. Mice and bugs don't find dark corners in which to build nests or webs. 4. Adjustability. Shelves can fairly easily be raised or lowered etc. for different configurations. 5. Usually wire shelves are fairly easy to install. 6. Low maintenance: wire shelves don't need painting. 7. Wire shelves can be removed and re-used elsewhere if desired.

Recessed is a lot of work, so I can totally see why you'd want a small set of shelves. It's hard to recommend a place to buy things, because each town can be so different. Am I right in guessing that you want shallow shelves? Ikea has interesting wall shelves. The Command adhesive people (3M) make stick-on wall ledges that will hold the most-used stuff. the Wayfair mail-order place (they have a website) has pretty decent stuff. One term to consider searching on is "wall shelves" or "display shelves" https://www.wayfair.com/storage-organization/sb0/wall-display-shelves-c45770.html You could also look into "bathroom wall cabinet" (I found a shallow cabinet from BB&B once, but of course it was a one-time-only thing) Or look into medicine cabinets w/o mirrors. And look at "bathroom wall shelves"--there are options there.

Hi! Yes we want open shelving. It wouldn’t be much just a small amount just like in the picture so it won’t be much to clean. And even so we love the look and willing to clean a shelf more often.

I had them in my old kitchen and got them at Ballard Designs - they were very inexpensive and really solid - I think they just come in black and white, but they also have other styles. HTH!

I wanted mine to match my cabinets exactly so I ordered it from the cabinet company.

The shelves in my kitchen were made of walnut to match my cabs, and were wired for lighting. My cabinet maker made them. The shelves in my LR are "birch" from Ikea. They can't handle a great deal of weight, but they are great for art.
