Sears Garage door opener won't close w/ remote
Comments (144)The problem I have is my door wont open at all. Neither the remote nor the wall button will budge it. The wall unit and the overhead opener seem to be communicating, since the lightbulbs are flashing, and turn on and off when told to. The remotes seem to have no affect at all. I replaced the chain onto the sprocket assemby and was adjusting the up and down on the main unit, Unit does nothing now when I press button on wall, is it possible to have adjusted the up/down too much to make unit not operate?Anyone have any ideas why my door won't work at all? I would expect the motor to at least chug or something, but...nuthin! Just flashing lights when i press the wall buttons. Sears Model 139.53975SRT1. Comments (23)The OP said, "...He included them because we showed him pictures of styles we like and that was one of them. I'm just not sure how it would work... can I do molding with that? Would it close in the space more vs. regular opening? This opening is from the living room to the family room, I'm thinking of mirroring this opening on the other side of the house from the dining room to the kitchen. I wonder if that would be excessive and I should leave the opening to one area of the house or if it would look weird with two different style openings?..." So you asked for arches and your architect gave you a design. Now you have doubts about what you asked for? The design is excellent and easily constructed. Only one of anything in a house design will often look out of place, however...and...wait for it...alone! So, no, don't do just one. If you are going to have an arch, then have...arches, i.e., more than one, included in a thoughtful and appropriate way. Have you talked with your architect about your doubts?...See MoreFridge door opening;pantry open or an 18" filler? (w/pics) Preference?
Comments (10)@idecor, thanks. The fridge is a right hand swing door and only needs 1/8" beyond a standard cabinet to open the max 115 degree opening at counter depth (24"). With a wall blocking PAST counter depth, it will stop at a 90 degree opening (which I don't want) and to your point, would be a bad design. But, if the pantry doors are partially open (because it would then swing past that 24" wall to the pantry), you still get the full open swing -- the only question here is whether having one of the pantry multi slide doors open to accomplish that is whether it would be an odd experience for full door opening. For example if someone entertains all the time and wanted the pantry doors fully closed, that would be an issue if it's unorganized. Opposite to that if you are entertaining and in and out of the pantry cooking, etc. the doors (3 multi slide) would probably be open anyway. perhaps not the perfect design if the pantry door has to open, but maximizes what I believe more important, is the working counter space to the right of the 48" range (having said that as a right handed person :) And, this does assume the pantry organization and function is a 'work of art'; which I plan on, as an extension to the kitchen working space. Did you put a fridge in this situation and regretted it? Thanks so much....See MoreCabinet Doors:Open which way?
Comments (27)I'd do the one immed to the right of the sink as a single with the handle on the left and hinge on the right. That way when you're standing at the sink, it will open toward you. I'd keep glasses and mugs, every day drinkware there. Probably a bottle of vitamins or other such might live there, too. The other two should be a double, opening in the center. Then you have plenty of room for your dishes, or large mixing bowls, or baking dishes or whatever. I would absolutely not have three choppy cabinets there....See More- 10 years ago
