A post on a different thread earlier today led me to these photos of beautiful Sally Wheat kitchens; the first with grey cabinets, and others as you scroll down with cabinets painted in other soft colors. I didn't read the narrative and have no idea who Sally Wheat is but the kitchens are lovely. At least one of the kitchens has wood beams.

what about natural maple as opposed to a painted cabinet? I have a north facing (onto woods) small galley kitchen with just a slider. I am tired of my white painted cabs, but still need to keep it light so am going with natural maple...they look lovely with ss appliances.

Sas95 what type of countertops did you use? I love the color.

I went with a off white several yrs ago and have not looked back. I used a Behr floor paint that has done wonderfully, however we are in the prossess of new right now just because counter top and cabinets are dated. This time I am going with a glazed pearl finsh that looks white with a wood grain. Love the lighter cabinets I don't think I will ever go back to darker wood again.

lalitha, the green is one of our cabinet company's stock greens. I think the shade is called "willow."

Finestra, the countertops are Caesarstone "champagne limestone."

Mine are pale yellow, sort of modeled after BM Provence Yellow. The only natural lighting in my kitchen is also from a skylight.

I have seen a pale sage green cabs with soapstone in a douglas fir timber frame home and it was beautiful.

Here's our sage green (Soft Fern BM) cabinets with beams and soapstone counters. The rest of the kitchen is white, but the pantry / fridge section is green. Hopefully I'll have a completed kitchen to show someday.. someday.

I just finished my cabinets yesterday in grey. I think it's a great neutral!

I'm contemplating soft gray or greige cabinets, but none of my inspiration pics have soapstone countertops. They are all low-contrast.

The second-to-last kitchen posted by Boxerpups is one of my favorites. I also love the 12th one with the clock above the impressive range.

So many of these kitchens are drool worthy. I am really liking the green cabinets.

A question..how would walls painted with color look with pale green or greenish grey cabinets? DH feels that if the walls are painted, the cabinets should be white to "pop". Or vice versa.. Would it end up too mono chrome?

Our walls are a light green, not exactly duplicating the color of our cabinets, but complementary. Similar to the look in the last picture boxerpups posted. Our trim is white. We don't find the look to monochrome, but taste is subjective.
