dishwasher drawers - how far do they extend?
Comments (4)I have drawers everywhere except my DW. Even my fridge. No I don't have DW drawers. Let other people post more detailed information for you....See MoreNew refrigerator--it sticks out too far!
Comments (25)I was lucky enough to be able to get my FD refrigerator recessed - of course it took the cabinet installer two attempts becuase he forgot the first time and the 2nd time didn't do it deep enough, but that's a different story. grrr.... Sorry your new Samsung isn't as sweet as you had hoped! One option - get those cool spice magnets (see link). I saw this on a friend's FD fridge and didn't even notice how much it stuck out. Talk about taking advantage of space. The magnets are much cheaper than a CD unit, that's for sure. But if you can't handle it, bite the bullet & get the CD model. Having lived in the Bay Area for 12 years, I know prospective buyers will apprecitae the look of a CD model. I had to bite the bullet with my DW this week (spending $500 more for an upgraded model) because I really really wanted a super quiet model. This kitchen stuff sure can be costly! Good luck. Here is a link that might be useful: spice magnets to...See MoreDishwasher handle sticking out?
Comments (11)Due to the same kinds of layout restrictions, I prep over the DW and trash pull-out. Last two DWs have had integrated handle, I think the 'snout' handle mentioned above, and it's not a problem. As for layout: I have only an 8.5 'sliver' of counter on the other side of the sink, where we had to remove the cabinets and counter to accommodate the door for a new addition. Even when I had the counter space there, and the stove was on that side of the room, I still prepped on the other side of the sink, over the DW. And now, with a second sink, and with an island and another counter within a pivot/step of the sink, everyone still wants to prep in the space that we've always used!...See Moreinset cabinets - dishwasher sticking out?
Comments (6)We have a Bosch with inset cabinets and while it extends beyond the cabinet frame, I don't think it looks odd at all. I never even thought about it until reading your post. I know that feeling of wanting to verify and see something when an expert you are paying is telling you to do something different, and just wanting to make sure that what you choose will fit well in the overall look. Honestly, this one is such a minor thing, and I am sure that no one will notice it at all. You have to decide if it will bother you, but I'd personally rather have the overhang. I have 1 1/4" overhang and the door of the DW sits flush with the edge of the granite. (I just looked at the specs and the DW itself is not as deep as the cabinets so it must be pulled out to sit that way.) This is the best I can do for pics right now. We are away from home while the floors are being done. If you want a better view, e-mail me from my page and I'll get it for you. HTH!...See More2LittleFishies
