I would go somewhere and get a sample of each and compare in your space. That way with lighting, etc you'll be able to know for sure which one says what you want it to say in your space.

I really think this is personal preference. I love quartz. I think it is modern and sleek and love its uniform and unfussy look. I also like the grey you chose to go with the white cabinets. There has to be something that made you fall in love with it in the first place? The 2 looks will be really different. Black countertops on white cabinets has a lot of contrast whereas the quartz you picked has a more blending feel. I agree with bahacca and try to get samples in your space and maybe go look at the black granites at the granite yard with your cabinet door to see them together.

We just put in white cabinets and use quartz in the Victorian sands color (mixture of light browns, tans, clear with some small flecks of white and black thrown in). We also used white subway tile for the back splash. We wanted the counter top to break up all the white but NOT to stand out and be the first thing you see in the kitchen. What look are you going for? We also wanted the counter to pick up some of the color of our wood floor.

Thank you all for your comments! I decided on the grey quartz. Bahacca I do have samples and look at them all the time....makes my husband crazy...ha! Chitown Remodel your comment about the quartz being modern, sleek and unfussy is one reason I really like it. And, I was afraid the black may be too much of a contrast for my sort of small area. Lynn85, how do you like your quartz? I was also thinking about white subway tile backsplash but am waiting until the counters are done. I really appreciate all of your help!
