Congratulations! It looks lovely and relaxed at the same time, which is not an easy feat. I particularly enjoy the touches of blue - particularly that punchy, spunky island. The shelving is great and I love it chunky, the beadboard is classic, the display cabinets are showcasing beautifully. Love the bay over the sink - and the sink itself is very cool. So glad your dreams came true - you waited a long time and deserve it.

Absolutely beautiful. I love the blue accents, especially the pendants over the island. Could you please share your dimensions of the island, and then the distance you have between the island and wall and island and sink? It would be so helpful, as I'm still planning.

Gosh - thanks for alll your kind words. Here's some answers to your questions: sink is 30", cabinets are shaker-sytle natural maple made by a a local cabinet maker, island is 30"x60" - 36" from stove and sink, 46" from wall behind bar stools, countertops are Silestone quartz Blue Sahara.

It's a wonderful kitchen! So cozy and inviting...and very pretty. I love the blue island, the bay window, the beadboard, the bench. So many lovely things and the blue accents are perfect. Your kitchen is so similar to the one I want to create, I hope you don't mind, I'm saving some of your pictures! Congrats on finally getting the kitchen you've always wanted :)

I love the backsplash! What is the color? Also love the bench to sit on while putting on/taking off shoes. It all just looks nice and homey and happy. Love it!

As one trying to integrate blue into my kitchen, you did a wonderful job! Love the subtle blue in backsplash that matches the island.

We did the backsplash over the stove about 7 years ago, liked it and kept it (much to the consternation of the most of the construction guys!) It's just plain 6" beige color tiles with some decorator tiles we cut to make a border. Unfortunately, they are discontinued. We kept a few of the smaller ones and my son put seven of them in 4" white square tiles that already had a 2" diamond shape cut out. The rest of the tiles are standard white subway tiles from HD.

Great kitchen! Love the warmth and friendliness. Did you have the skylight put in?

Colorfast: Yes, we had two put in, one near the stove and the other near the desk and windowseat. The one near the stove opens - and I love the breeze that comes in, especially on warm days. We took out a wall between a sunroom and the old kitchen and I was concerned about light as there was only the bay window. With the skylights, daylight door and narrow window by the windowseat, we have lots of natural light.
