Ugh, can't find picture of favorite kitchen

Someone here has a kitchen that I adore and I thought I saved a picture, but can't find it anywhere. It's been awhile since I've seen it, so I don't even know how well I can describe it, but here it goes. I'm pretty sure it had a French Country flair with white/off white cabinets and a stained island (that really narrows it down doesn't it :)

I know the eating area was originally more closed in and they knocked down a wall to open it up. I think they posted a picture of it decorated at Christmas time. This I'm not positive about, but it seems like there were steps going down to another area off the kitchen or maybe there was just a railing that made me think it was steps. It was one of those kitchens that everyone had a fit over. Sound familiar at all?

Was it reno_fan's? She's over on the Decorating Forum talking about painting her kitchen yellow, if you want to peek there at her photo to see if that's the one.

Did you try looking though the Finished Kitchens Blog. If you go to the Categories section, you view by such categories as "Country" or "French".

1. Open an account on a free picture hosting site such as Photobucket, Webshots, or Flickr 2. Make your album "public" so others can see your pictures ....If you are using Photobucket: .......got to Account Options .......then, click on Edit Album Settings .......Where it says "My album is", be sure it says "Public". If it says "Private", change it to "Public" 3. Using camera software that came with your camera or other software like Microsoft Picture Manager, resize the pic so it's less than 600 pixels in both directions. [The best way is to reduce the size is by a percentage so it gets smaller in both directions at the same rate...say 15% or 20% of the original size] 4. Upload the picture to your account (see #1) 5. If you use Photobucket, when you see your pic on the site, copy the link from the box labeled "HTML Code" (I don't know where the link is in Webshots Flicker, etc.--I use Photobucket) .....[You can also resize your pic on the Photobucket site] 6. Simply paste the link in your message...you're done! When you preview your message you will see the picture. HTH!

Cheri, I am just reading your post for the first time tonight.... I am glad you are considering wood flooring for your kitchen! After looking at your pictures - I can see that you are going for a very "high end, authentic" look. I think checkerboard tile would be a mistake and not in keeping with the great details that you already have, so carefully selected. I would do the wood floor stained medium to darker brown and use a rug to achieve the look you are going for. Your style seems very classic, simple and elegant and authentic. I have a great picture of a rug that could give you the look, but I don't know how to post pictures in this forum. I have just started posting tonight for the first time. Keep focusing and best of luck to you.... Your choices so far are very nice.

I don't know about the post, but a few days ago they had a ad you could click on that showed pictures of kitchens. In the group was an English kitchen that had free standing cabinets. In other words, each cabinet was an individual unit, freestanding and not attached to the others. That is the European style, where you can take your cabinets with you when you move.

OMG, that's it!! It's amylville's kitchen. I can't believe you found it from my vague description. How did you figure out that was the kitchen I was describing? I spent about two hours looking through the kithen blog last night and never could find it. Thank you so much.

Laurie, Thats my kitchen! I'm delighted that you like it. I have not posted it on the FKB because its not finished (is it ever?). If you need any info or pictures let me know.

amylville - I was wondering why it wasn't on the FKB. What else do you have left to do? It looks perfect to me the way it is! I'm not ready to redo my kitchen yet, but I'm keeping a folder of inspiration pictures, so now I've added yours to it.

I love it too! Looked for it on FKB also but didn't find you there. I agree it looks so finished! What are your pendant lights?
