where to find plaid silk/silk like panels 4 the best price?

I can not stand my heavy burgandy velvet pottery barn drapes anymore. I have seen some on here that are plaids that are silk or silk like that I love. Where can I find them for a pretty good price, I have 4 windows and I like to hang the rod close to the ceiling so 96" is a must. Anyone have any ideas or pictures???

Thank u deb I will check them out now. Ive been to Tuesday mornings but can never find enough panels of silk trading company by the time I get there. There is also a curtain exchange store 30 minutes away from me. Ive never been in it, just glared through the windows when walking by. Has anyone been in one, what are their prices like?

OK--so I definitely was not phishing for ads here. Look how old the original post was! pajacuzzi's 'My Page' shows his homepage to be the Jason home page. Do these guys really think we pay attention to their blatant attempts to increase sales & get free advertising? It just turns me off completely. But maybe this is a good time for an update & product review since we're finally in our new house & enjoying our new tub!!! We ended up going with the Kohler Purist tub with effervescence, whirlpool jets & back/neck jets & I love it. Bottom line was I could not see the Jason tub anywhere in my area & I got such a great deal on the Purist, I couldn't pass it up. I actually look forward to coming home after work and climbing in my tub!! The effervescence feature makes the lightest little champagne bubbles that just barely move the water & feels like a relaxing caress. I sleep so well afterward! DH is very pleased with the whirlpool & back/neck jets. Our tub also came with the chromatherapy lights & they are so nice when you really don't want harsh light. You can just turn off all the other bathroom lights & turn the chromatherapy lights on and you're good to go. The tub is nice & deep and you can fill it to overflowing for complete submersion of your body from the neck down--it has an overflow channel just for that! I would definitely buy the Kohler Purist tub again if I had to do it all over again.

Oooh! This happened to me, I had gorgeous silk draperies (Cowtan and Tout) in my old dining room that had 9' ceilings. My new house has 10' ceilings. There was no way I wasn't going to use these drapes...I adore them. Luckily, I had 3 windows in old house and 2 in new...I took drapes to a fabric shop and they said they could add 14" to the bottom from 2 panels I wasn't using! We found some perfect trim, (egads, 10 yards though...ouch) and omg, they turned out so well...I adore them. I don't think it looks obvious at all. Perhaps this could work for you?

Fauxchick if you put glue on those fabulous drapes I'll fly down and shoot you myself LOL Having them adjusted profesionally will be quite inexpensive...you're taking the right route there :) Or you could mail them to me and I'll do them...mind you, I may have to hang them for a few years to get the wrinkles out...but when I'm done with them, you can have them right back :oP heh heh I too love this thread...I don't get to play with silk as much as I used to (I used to make quilts that were donated to charities asking my employer for money...in a busy bank, with lenders all around me, you'd see my corner office...Fancy desk, lots of file cabinets, very banker like...but wth? There's a babylock on the table in the corner and several piles of silk on the desk :) I loved being able to sew at work LOL I just pulled baby out of the closet and she's looking at me with great longing...maybe I'll make a drape today...she needs me :) (Unfortunately so does my 3 year old and he's not much help with the fabic!!!)

I purchased the Pottery Barn Silk Duponi Tie Top Drapes in ivory. Initially I purchased 4 panels for my living room bay window and 4 panels for my dining room window. I believe both windows are around 100" wide. I love them so much I purchased 4 more panels for my kitchen eating nook window as well. (I'm lucky that my significant other has not voiced any objections to the curtains.) I absolutely love the curtains and I feel they made the rooms look 10x better than before. The 4 panels for each window look perfect (to me): full and beautiful. The silk duponi looks expensive and the texture is lovely. The panels definitely filter/dim the light but not a lot. Previously I had black velvet curtains on my living room window and nothing on my dining room window (open to the living room - opposite sides of the house) and the living room is significantly brighter than before. In fact, I pretty much only open the curtains if company is coming over because they let in enough light closed. I would imagine the clay color would block the light a little more. The curtains do have a white lining behind the silk. I used the large Pottery Barn Standard Drape Rod and it has a single support in the middle. I purchased the extra-large size for my family room sliding glass door with 2 fixed windows beside it (I think around 110"?) but I have not yet installed the rod or curtains, so I'm not certain how many supports. I think just the 2 outside and the single in the middle, but I'm not positive. I didn't do a great deal of research before purchasing the drapes so I'm not certain if you could find something equally as beautiful elsewhere. But I really do love these from Pottery Barn. I feel like the quality and styling is fantastic and I would definitely do it all over again.

Penney's has a number of silk plaids in various colorways, and they seem to all come in the length you need.

I was at two places online before the holidays where I saw Plaid Silk and Faux Silk Panels at reasonable prices.

I've ordered products from both places and have never been disappointed.

The Curtain Exchange is a great place to see different styles but their prices are VERY high. You can find the look you want for much less elsewhere.

Happy, Jjam is right, Curtain Exchange is very expensive. When I still lived in NJ, I went to their Edgewater store and priced two silk panels for my DR. This was about two years ago and the price then was about $600 per panel. The silk panels were to die for but in the end I didn't get them because of cost.

Have you considered having panels made? I did that for my GR and came in under $1000 for two panels and a valance.

CE is a good place to go and look for inspiration.

Happy another place to try is Horchow. I would wait though for a sale and then you can usually do pretty well. I also signed up for their email blasts and always get notices when there are 20% off promotions in effect. They occur pretty frequently and often are site wide.
