Have you seen uxorial's tiles? Just did a google search for gray/brown backsplash tiles, and there she was! I know you said you were looking for accent tiles, but her tiles seem to be in your colour range. Have you seen the Finished Kitchens site? I will try linking the backsplash slideshow, might give you some ideas.

What is the name of your granite and do you have a picture?

I just saw a really pretty backsplash in another post today titled "Please show your shaker style knobs and pulls". If you scroll down a bit, you'll see flatcoat2004's backsplash. It looks like they used light brown, cream, and gray tiles..a diamond pattern.

I have santa Cecilia granite which has grey and brown and black. We chose a brown tumbled tile for the backsplash.

It would help to know what material(s) your taste lean toward. Stone, ceramic, glass, slate, or any combination thereof. There are so many options that would work. Knowing material you like best would help narrow the field. I'd love to help but want to find something that you'd first consider.

We have warm cabinets with Impala Black granite which is really a dark gray with subtle flecks of white. Our backsplash is Quartz Brick Fire and Ice by Jeffrey Court. The "fire" part is tiles in colors that range between gray and brown (more of a tan really) and some brick color. The "ice" part is 2"sq pieces of colored glass installed throughout. We added the darker pieces ourselves but the white and light amber pieces come with the backsplash.

I am planning to use an accent strip which has brown and beige natural stone as well as a whitish one and one with white and grey. I think it's gorgeous. Sorry I don't have a photo, but it is from Mannington Accent Gallery and it's called Artistica marble glass listello and the order code is ASCLIX. It also has one piece of dark brown glass. You have some beautiful choices shown here--good luck.
