graywings - I had to laugh at this. My children are 27, 24 and 22. I had to bribe the older two (and my new son-in-law) to come help me with the tree. We let my SIL put up the angel for the first time. The three "kids" all sort-of threw the rest of the ornaments on, and now they keep falling off the tree.

My son is in college. I sent some photos to him yesterday and have yet to hear back from him about them. Anything like "thanks mom, that really makes me miss being home and I can't wait for Christmas" would be worth all the effort. :) Maybe tomorrow they will all appreciate what I do.

I'll add another "thank you for sharing"! Beautiful!

oakleyok - The tree placement is a necessity because we do not have any rooms large enough to put the tree. Last year, because I wanted a more cozy feel, we placed a smaller tree in the living area corner, and rearranged the furniture. I liked it, but my children and husband like the tree in the foyer better. I wish we had room for a tree in the family room area. Something you don't think about when downsizing is where the tree is going.

It's beautiful NHB. Have you thought about a smallish tree in your living room? We put our larger tree in the sunroom (which is much like a den for us - it's used every day), and I have smaller trees in the great room (4 ft.) and our bedroom.

Now sit back and enjoy all that hard work! Don't you love sitting in the dark and enjoying all the lights?

I have the one silk fig shown above, and a real fig in the study that I decorated last year. Up until we moved into this house, we had a 4'-5' live children's tree, and I also had one of the fiber optic trees in the downstairs family room. Truthfully, I don't want to bother with another tree anymore.

OK, the tour would not be complete without a showing from our own Vanna White...alias Riley. I actually got her to pose for a Christmas photo.:)

She heard her daddy coming into the foyer and turned her head on this one.

Stunning! I just want to know where and how you store all of the wonderful decorations. I can't imagine pulling that much down out of my attic or up from my basement!

BTW, Did your daughter ever paint her kitchen?

camarodreamer67 - I keep the decorations in the basement. It is a chore, but DH helps me bring up boxes.

The kitchen really wasn't hers until she got married in late September. She is a teacher, and has not had time between the wedding planning and working full time. She planned to do some painting this month or during Christmas break. I personally do not think it will get done until this summer.
