JCPenneys, because someone said you can go to their cagalog department in a store and look at swatches before you buy, and because they're super about returns if you're not happy and you can take the returns to the store instead of paying postage. But buying online without a swatch to at least see first? Risky business.

Country Curtains. They'll send you up to 10 free swatches. I've used them in the past, but have been curtain-less for the past 4 years. I want cafe curtains at my new kitchen window and although I bought some at PB, I'm probably going to get another pair from CC.

Around here, the web site has more then our store. I can go to the store to look at styles but they don't always have the same colors (online has more). I don't mind buying online as Oceanna says you can return to the store.

If you find something online, go to google & search for JC Penney coupon codes, some give free shipping while others give a percentage off. It depends on what you are buying & if it's on sale, but what I do is open a few browser tabs with my cart, put each code in to see how much I save & which is better.

What I usually do if buying a lot is go to the store during their buy 1 get 1 for 99 cents, taking with me the catalog number of the item they do not stock. They will order it and ship to the house or store.

At the sales counter in the window treatment dept at JCP, they have a book with swatches for all the curtains in all the colors. It's just a tiny little swatch, but it at least shows you the color more accurately than the catalog or website. You do have to ask to see the book - it's not sitting out. Plus they are great with returns if something doesn't look like you wanted it to (which happens to me a lot, LOL!)

well this is not really what you asked but here goes anyway. Upon advice of a co-worker I went to my local Goodwill and found curtains. I hate digging through the bins though so I told it to the person there and they went in the back and found me cutains in my colors. they have goo gobs of curtains in the back.
LOL I am a bargain hunter and after getting a set of 2-100" fully insulated drapes for $12 IT WAS WORTH THE TRIP. I also only go the the Goodwill in Apex which is where everything in the store is excellent quality.

I've had really good luck with Linens & Things.
In fact, one panel came with stitches undone at the hem and I called to get information on how to return and they told me to take it to my nearest L&T.
I did, returned it and got 20% off.

I've purchased panels from L&T for the family room and panels I sewed together to make a shower curtain.
Both sets have held up great.
I've washed the panels in the family room and even with the moisture in the bathroom both sets look really good.

I've bought window treatments twice from Smith & Noble. They have specials occasionally so it may make sense to sign up for their catalogue/emails. The swatches are free. They are not the least expensive but if you want something well made with lots of fabrics to choose from or your windows aren't standard, they're great. Good luck!

Recently when I asked this question, someone suggested Drapestyle where they had been pleased with what they had ordered. I sent for samples and the linen is very nice. I'm considering using them for my living and dining room drapes.

RE: JC Penney . . .I don't know if other sites have this, but I tried out their window designer software and it was limited, but helped me come up with a window possibility. Nice!
