OK... now I'm a little scared... is there a cure?

OOps...that was scary. I answered yes to more than I thought I would.

At least my pets don't coordinate with my kithchen...but those other 24....hmmm....

Very funny and way too true. I'm a little proud of #16, but #25 is just too sad...and embarrassing...But misery loves company and I'm glad I'm not the only one!!!

My kitchen is the last phase of a 3 part renovation on our house...18-24 months away...and yet I am on this forum several times a day.

Can anyone say #6 and #25?! LOL

After I read this, I thought to myself, this HAS to be a GWer who wrote this!!!

My additions:

26. You go bananas when you can't find your graph paper with layout #1057.

27. You think that if someone stole your computer, or the hard drive was wiped, you would be devasted more because of the loss of all your links, notes, and inspiration pictures you have been carefully saving for years.

28. You know that wine and glasses are the most important thing to have on hand during the remodel.

Oh, and another one...

29. You are so engrossed reading posts that you don't notice that the 3 year old has toilet papered the entire upstairs.

I don't feel TKO after reading that...after all, only 20 of them applied to me...

amberley, I was thinking the same thing, especially after reading all the references to the "kitchen forum". The author has to be a GWer! OK, who's gonna 'fess up??

Guilty! Only been sketching, measuring, taping, buying every
magazine ever put out, measuring again, making holes in different
sections of existing kitchen, collecting data, changing my mind and staring at this forum site for well over a year now! TKO AND PROUD!

LOL buehl, those were the ones that threw me over the top...still planning your next kitchen? bought a new house so you could remodel again? bought a house JUST to do another kitchen...LOL Those ones killed me!

Yes, remodelfla, there is a cure...it'll pass on its own. You finally finish your kitchen remodel, live with it, drop that pot and make that first gouge in the wood floor, and make that first scratch in your gorgeous Franke SS sink. Then you find grease buildup in your pro-style range and hood in places you never thought it could get. Then the meticulously researched appliances start to have their little tics and breakdowns. Then the phone calls to the service departments (thank God for warranties!). Then the great big wonderful holiday parties with the entire family running around in your spiffy kitchen.

Then you finally breathe, relax, and settle into it, and the TKO passes. And you realize it's only a kitchen, it was a fun phase to go thru, and now you have other things more pressing in your life.

Then you sell the house in 15 years and cry when you realize everything you did is now outdated! LOL

Enjoy the ride...it's a fun one.

Um. Ok. THAT was embarrassingly revealing. Add me to the TKO List, and I'm one of the ones whose kitchen reno is 18 months away.

Was over at my house-under-renovation earlier this week, architect turns to carpenter and says "do you have a tape measure?" and I had mine out of my purse faster than the carpenter could detach his from his belt. All that practice, dontcha know...

Oh I am SO there....

"Is there any cure?" Well, sort of. Time is the only thing that heals the ailment. I'm right at 6 years FINISHED and I'm still here but not as much as before. Just have to take it one day at time :)

After reading this yesterday two things happened that caused me to realize how truly TKO I am. I now add:

30. When your 3 year old plays with her toys, the Mommy and Daddy have to work on the kitchen.

31. When a tropical storm fells an 80 foot tree on your property, your first thought is "It could have fallen the other way onto my nearly finished kitchen!"

I'm sure most kids aren't even aware of their kitchens, but Paige hears us talk about it all the time so she thinks that is what adults talk about! The other day a tile sample board fell on her finger while she was sitting on the counter. She went to preschool the next day and told her teacher that "a big wood fell on my finger while I was sitting on the granite." Yes, that's right, she refers to it as "THE granite." She also blames me for the injury because I put the tile board there. I know, I am due for mother of the year this year!

I also woke up in a panic at 6:30am yesterday as Tropical Storm Fay was making her way across north Florida. I wasn't panicking about potential danger for my family or my business, I was worried about water getting into my new kitchen and damaging the floors and cabinets! I know its ridiculous, but I can't help myself. When we discovered the tree had fallen I freaked out because it was on the same side of the house as the kitchen and easily could have landed on it.
