bar sink w/pull out spray

Since my window is so close to the counter, I wondered if I could use a bar faucet. They would be smaller and that's what I'm looking for. Is there any reason not to? Doing a quick search,I found them; one here

Unfortunately, your URL doesn't work for me. Could you tell us the model? I'm assuming the manufacturer is American Standard, based on the URL you provided.

What size is your sink? Configuration?

How far back will the faucet be installed from the front edge of the counter?

What is the "reach" of the faucet?

Is the faucet a pull down, pull out, or other?

How much space will there be b/w the faucet and sill & backsplash?

I'm curious why it would matter how close your window is to the counter. Will the faucet be right up against the window?

All these have a bearing on what will be best for your situation.

The link didn't go to the faucet I had in mind. So, here is what I know. My window is only 6 inched above the counter. After the remodel it will likely be 4 inches or less above the counter. I don't want the faucet to stick out like a beacon of light when you walk into the kitchen. I don't need a faucet to obstruct my view. I don't care for the look of the faucet framed with window trim. All of the tall goosenecks are huge and I don't like the look for my room. I will have a farm sink so the faucet area can be anything I want. A bar sink would be a lower profile and not the focal point of the kitchen. It will be pull out.

Thanks so much for your responses. Dan, you make a good point in explaining that the fixtures displayed in stores aren't set up as they would be in a home setting and would also tend to become mishandled by so many customers yanking on them. Leah and asolo, you've given me good reason to reconsider any doubts I may have had about the pull outs. Honestly? That's what I really wanted, but was leery. And, "yes", I figure if I'm going through all the time and money :( to redo my kitchen, I shouldn't scrimp on a rather prominent feature such as a faucet. I also agree that Groehe is a really top line as Franke and some Moens appear to be. I'll be visiting some more stores this weekend that are a little bit upscale and hopefully can find one then. Definitely will check them out online before buying, too. I've already saved quite a lot on items for my new kitchen that I saw in person, but wound up buying (successfully) online. Thanks again.

Grohe is great or very good. Danze is a gamble on Chinese quality with a so-so track record and without any support. Parma is just a name they gave to a model. Call each manufacturer once just to see how your questions get fielded. Ask them to guide you since web searching is easier once you have an idea what to look for. Ask the same questions to each.

I like a pulldown. Sidespray is too fiddly and pullouts aren't as massive, meaning I don't get the spout length my shortness requires. :) I have a Kohler Simplice right now as a temporary faucet. It's okay but the spray button doesn't work right. I shoulda exchanged it but I was lazy--Kohler makes a good faucet and I just got a dud. Previously I had a huuuuge Hansgrohe Allegro Pro, selected purely by size (I was having back issues with the faucet spout length in my unremodeled kitchen). It looked like an alien space craft from the original War of the Worlds movie. Great faucet BUT! Like others, I found that the HG spray button wasn't a simple on/off mechanism. You could turn it on, you could turn it off, but if you turned off the water, it would revert to stream. Not a big deal unless you are a Tapmaster user trying to conserve water while washing veggies with the sprayer. I'll probably get another one when I remodel anyway. :) So whatever you get, make sure the spray/stream mechanism works the way you want. What we think is an obvious function may not have occurred to the faucet designers. (The Simplice--if the button acts like it should--is the way it should be. On or off, until you change it.)

I have this in both of my kitchen sinks (main sink and prep) and like it very much, https://www.moen.com/products/Sleek/Sleek_Spot_resist_stainless_onehandle_high_arc_pulldown_kitchen_faucet/7864SRS When we were first married we had a Peerless sink for years which was always a problem and never, ever lived up to its name. We switched to Moen and have never had a problem. Plus I know from my experience with Moen bath fixtures that if we do have a problem, their customer service will be great. The Moen tub spout we originally installed 19 years ago started leaking earlier this year, and the last time that happened, about 10 years ago, we phoned Moen customer service for a new shower valve cartridge, which they sent out cheerfully and for free. I had my doubts nine years on, but my husband called them, and sure enough, happily and for free, another shower cartridge was sent out immediately.
