Have you checked to see if there's a hole in the Never MT tubing?

Unfortunately, I can't offer you any advice on the NeverMT as I haven't installed my own as yet. But I just wanted to tell you that it was a delight to see your name attached to a post! You might remember that we met last year at the NYC GW event on the UWS. Although you described yourself at that time as a lurker, I've been hoping to "see" more of you around the GW community. At the very least, I've been hoping you'd post photos of your finished kitchen. So, how about it?

moon - if when you clean it water flows through the hole,and you are sure all tubing connections are tight, and the end of tube is in fact sitting in soap - it could possibly be the guts/spring inside of soap dispenser - I've had mine replaced 2x over the past 3 yrs

- Try putting the orig soap bottle back on see if that works
- prime the Never MT tubing with soap - ?is any drawing up?

Hi Marthavila! I remember you well! How nice to hear from you! Believe me, I was never TKO! I was just desperately struggling with a TKO (total kitchen overhaul) pretty much on my own -- six months of hell. Once everything was functioning and the workmen were gone (along with far more of my $$$ than in my wildest estimates) I ran out of steam. It would be an exaggeration to say my kitchen is finished. Unbelievable, but I'm still using blue plumber's tape to open drawers and cabinets and bare bulbs are hanging from the ceiling on pigtails. My breakfast table is a jerry-built monstrosity. Needless to say, I have not taken -- much less posted -- any photos of this debacle! After so much time, money, and effort, it is frustrating to have the makings of a wonderful kitchen that I just can't seem to get finished. (Similar issues in the bathroom and living areas, which were also redone.) You can perhaps understand why I've even stopped lurking -- although every once in a while I can't resist taking a peek. Then I get caught up in reading the latest threads -- and there goes an hour! One of these days -- soon, I hope -- I'll pick up where I left off and get this project finished. I'll be so happy when it's ready for its close-up!

Meanwhile, I just wish I could get that second NeverMT to work!

In the meantime, hang in there! I think I soooo understand your circumstances! I first embarked on my kitchen reno in December 2006, as a single woman acting as her own GC in NYC. Well, for most of 2007, it was mainly a time of false starts, turnarounds, turn backs, time outs, etc. Like you, I lost a whole lot of money -- primarily because of bad hiring decisions and lack of project clarity. I also thought I would never ever have a completed kitchen! Finally, in 2008, and with a lot of help from this forum, I got back on the horse. I bit the financial bullet and hired a licensed GC and an ID. In the end, that decision to spend more on a reliable construction team is what actually helped me to start saving money on my reno project. Plus, I'm thrilled to say that my reno was pretty much completed by spring of this year (a handful of matters still remain to be finished/resolved).

BTW, in sharing that, I'm not suggesting that anyone has to go the professional GC/designer route to get a kitchen done. Heck no! There are way too many people here who have turned out fabulous DIY kitchens or acted as their own GC, etc. with marvelous results! I'm just saying that I do understand that the challenge of trying to do even the simplest of construction projects on your own can be super hard -- especially if you are an inexperienced remodeler, female, and living in the Big Apple. So, hang in there, lean more on us, and I'm sure we'll see your finished kitchens photos sooner than later!

Tubing not sealing correctly?

Where the tube connects to the soap dispenser? You might try pouring some hot water over it - not boiling, just hot and enough so the connection becomes warm. The tubing will shrink a little bit as it cools, hopefully tightening the connection.

Hey there moonyecka! Not sure if this is what you meant when you said you tred priming it directly from the bottle, but you can try dribbling some soap in from the top end of the tube, before you attach that end to the soap dispenser. That's what DH did to ours to get it to work.
