Woops, sorry, didn't notice this thread was three years old... Perhaps my comments will still be helpful to someone else... For other readers, since you now seem to be leaning towards a black or charcoal based countertop: I could certainly be wrong, but it seems to me that you have your Mascarellos labeled backwards, or it may just be the way the photo is taken; I believe the Antique (with more white, less gold) is on the right and the Golden is on the left (with more... gold). I used the Golden Mascarello in a house I recently remodeled (photo attached). It went well with the wood cabinets and the beige paint in the adjacent dining room (and the off-white color of the island). I am re-doing my sister's house, so she can sell it, and we are considering the Antique Mascarello because she has white cabinets with brushed nickel trim. I am a real fan of the Mascarellos. Formica also makes a Crema Mascarello that is white and off-white with gray granite streaks and a hint of tan and brown - we used this color in the bathrooms (of the house we remodeled). Krad, thanks for posting. I very much appreciate these photos because they show me what my 180FX Formica faux Antique Mascarello is trying to replicate. You have a lot of stone there, probably not as much as my countertops have in Formica, but more than most. This must have been quite an investment. It's fun to see the stone in a room with formal and classical touches; my room is more modern, the cabs are light, the lines are plainer and the edges are straight 90 degrees, so the similarity ends and the rooms become very different. I am intrigued to see more of your color scheme and am imagining what else will be in the finished room.

I don't know a lot of granites by name, but I think a greenish granite with gray undertones would be absolutely stunning with cream cabs and maple floors.

I would bring sample paint chips to where your slab is (paint chips or sample cabinet doors with your chosen paint on it). The lighting will most likely be different there than your home light, but it should give you a good idea of how the colors blend together. I would also try to get a sample of your slab and bring it home along with your sample paint chips/cabinet doors. I would not automatically paint your cabinets the color of your home doors and trim because unless you’ve matched up your slab to the color of your home trim, you could be making a huge mistake. It’s a lot easier to paint the trim in your kitchen to match up with your cabs and slab than to have to repaint your cabinets should you find that when the slab goes in there’s a terrible clash.
