Furniture with a lot of curves was the realm of the very rich; you demonstrated how wealthy you were by how much mahogany ended up on the shop floor as shavings and waste. I guess that sort of holds true today, but that's why a lot of carved furniture is actually resin nowadays.
The appliances aren't curved in this pic, as far as I can tell, but some of the cabinetry is. Expect to pay a super-premium for curved work. The countertops incur a lot of waste, too. And perhaps odd seams, unless you size them to come out of the largest-obtainable slabs of whatever material.
A curved Kraftmaid wall cabinet would cost $1600, where the same cabinet in a normal shape would be $400. It's that steep.
I have only been asked once to build a curved cabinet; a double-bowl vanity. I was given full freedom to design it, so I worked out a finish/surface that kept my grief to a minimum, and it turned out quite artistic looking. It was more than triple the material, and double the time of the same thing in flat work.
You can google to find shops that specialize in what's known as "radius work".

90-190K would be ballpark depending on if the architecture was pre-existing or had to be created. There are lots of basic and finish construction issues with round architecture, and those are some expensive cabinets as well. That isn't a look for someone on a budget unless they are a highly skilled carpenter and can DIY quite a bit. If it's located in NYC, SanFran or other high priced urban real estate, you could double those numbers without breaking a sweat.

One of the things that I liked about *this* round kitchen is that I don't think the cabinets themselves are round, which is of course less expensive than true, round cabinets.

I had sort of ballparked $50,000 for 100 square feet, not including appliances. I was going to get a cheap countertop. But I was leery about approaching a design firm if my budget wasn't even close.

I would say $100,000+ and a lot of it is in the labor. The cabinet units are not curved but they have to be installed along a curve.

You would need a lot more than 100 s.f. to do this kitchen. If you just add up typical 24" cabinet depth and guess the island at 48" plus two aisles you get a minimum of 16' diameter before even allowing for the inefficiency of the curve. Add in the bar counter and room for the stools and it's 20' or more like 25' easily. It would only work in new construction or a loft style space.

Maybe you can do a round island and round counter/eating area and have the rest not be circular. I love the lighting and how it mimics the curves. I can imagine a semi U shape on 2.5 walls and then the round island and curve instead of a straight peninsula. It would use space more efficiently while also not making too many countertops so difficult.
Maybe if you get a few elements, it will be enough to be hot without you not affording actual heat next winter ;)

Yes, this was obviously built that way on purpose--house was designed with a round kitchen, but a curved bar like that could be put into a lot of great room style kitchens, and the rest could be retrofitted into certain places. I agree with Steff about the approximate size.

I also agree that the cabinets themselves don't look round. Even if they were, if it were only the fronts, rather than front and back, it wouldn't be too big a deal if you're starting with the premise of custom. Curves are made with MDF and veneers. Concave fronts can be achieved with standard hardware.

I don't think you can do anything this sleek for your budget, however, unless you can DIY a lot of it--at least detailed plans. Creating the curved wall takes patience and a lot of care. Adding veneer if you have a proper wall isn't so bad. I think a good home craftsman or finish carpenter should be able to do it for a reasonable price/amount of work. If you can find stock cabinets that you can make work with this, you could then work with the installer to get the angles right, and maybe stay somewhere near the budget. A lot of it is how determined you are.

I don't see the difference between the waste for a curved counter and for a wide counter. If whatever you have is wider than half a slab, and you don't have window sills or shelves or laminated edges or something, there's just as much waste. Fabricating the counters shouldn't be a big deal for a good fabricator with the proper tools. I've had granite done in a much more complicated pattern.

Really, I think you could figure out how to get a look inspired by at least.

Thanks for your opinions. Yes, the kitchen would be built in a raw loft space. D, you are right, one of the things that totally make the space is the way the lighting mimics the shape of the kitchen.

Here is another kitchen I love, designed by the late, great Naomi Leff. But, even I can tell this is way out of my price league.

Since the curves call to you, and would really look amazing in a loft type space, I'd at least pay homage to these designs, even if you can't do a full on copy. I'd love to have something so fun to look st every day. You have posted 2 kitchens that have a similar aesthetic, so you have a good jumping off point.
Kudos to the originators of these as it is far from in the box, cookie cutter design. I am usually disappointed in the lack of imagination in the expensive homes I see. I figure if they have such a high budget to work with, their spaces should not end up looking like a larger version of the average Joe's....

Wonderful that you have an open space to do this. In fact it's what you should do in a loft and take advantage of the nearly unlimited options. It would be stunning.

Concrete might be your best counter option because it is so flexible. Large curved counters in laminate don't work that well because of the seaming issues. Solid surface or stone are better.
