Clearance at Lowe's

I just got back from our local Lowe's and they had just put out three racks of drapery hardware, including rods, pull backs, rings, etc. They had a few shades, too. There were three racks of table top lamps and lamp shades. Most of the prices were 75% off or more. I bought two rods that were regular priced at $49 for $6. I have to stop going to Lowe's, although then I wouldn't get such great bargains, right?!

Thanks for the tip, I need insulation for my pipes, I will have to stop by the bargain table if they have one at mine.

Our store clearanced them out as well. I guess that size wasn't a good seller corporate wide. I'm glad we have a few new products this year.

I went to K-Mart last week. They had their garden stuff on clearance and then had another percentage on top of that. I think it ended up being around 75% off. I bought several garden gnomes, statues and pots. Not sure if the Easter Bunny will be handing them out in the Spring (Easter is March 23, 2008) or if I'll keep them for myself. My kids have really gotten into planting things in the garden and they love the little fun things we've added like tipsy pots, pot hangers, and ladders.

Thanks for the post. I recently bought some lids at Lowes because they were cheaper than my usual source. I hotfooted over there this morning and stocked up. I wasn't lucky enough to find everything as cheap as your Lowes, but it was still a bargain. Regular mouth lids = .65 Wide mouth = 1.05 Fruit pectin = 1.73 Pickle Crisp = 2.78 Thanks again! Thank you. I've read that before, but it doesn't seem to apply in the case of prairie soil. I've had good luck with the sand method and so far and the gaura looks great. For some reason, when I've done this in the past, the sand will incorporate with the clay and you won't even be able to tell sand was added in a few years. I guess the worms and ants do their thing to mix them together. I do mulch all of my flower beds with pine straw. I've been in the house for 15 years now and I've been able to get hydrangeas to grow in this clay. Right now, my biggest obstacle is keeping everything watered. We aren't getting much rain right now. The big test will be to see if the gaura survives the winter. Oddly, the prunella, which was suppose to be easier to grow, is struggling in the pot I put it in with Miracle Grow moisture retentive potting soil (blue bag). Go figure. Still, they were both cheap experiments and I love a bargain.

Mine usually always had something stuck in the main aisle between flooring and paint. I've gotten some nice deals. A $28 Waverly valance for $4 once. A nice exterior light for rental property for a song. It's hit or miss, but when it's a 'hit' it's usually a good one ;)

I found the best looking "shag" area rug for the side of my sons room. It was only $16. I plan to post his Before and After pictures next week.

Boo! Two of the shades I bought for almost nothing won't work in my house. They are gorgeous, but too small for any of my windows. I will take them back and hope for more bargains.

They had light bulbs, a whole rack of different kinds, for .25 cents!

well bummer. I went to my Lowe's today.

Zilch, zip, nada, squat. There was nothing... no bargain tables anywhere. :o( Oh well. I hope the rest of you find some great bargains at your local stores.

minnt~ sorry your shades didn't work. Hopefully you'll find something even better. :O)

One thing to remember - At least at our Lowes - is - Corporate only allows a certain percentage of stock to be clearanced. They typically only get a repreive on that on the weekends. Saturday early am is the best time to hit it. We lucked into several thousand dollars worth of lighting and bathroom cabinetry for only a few hundred a few months ago this way.. thanks to that information and a tip from an employee.
