Well, crud. I think if this were to work, I'd have to repaint the dining room, as well as the living room. Soft Fern looks lovely (at least on my monitor) with the other two colors. Dang. I should just stop thinking about paint. A girl could drive herself mad.

Put the brush down and walk away. This could go on indefinitely. Maybe you need a road trip to clear your head. ;)

Buy a big bucket of rosemary sprig, have the paint store dilute it for adjacent room by adding 1/2 gallon of white, next room 1 gallon of white, and proceed until you have painted all the rooms and it will have a look of continuity and will all be in the family you like. Then make yourself a drink based on the agave. Cheers! Good seeing you are still decorating. Love your home.

You are such a nut...but I'll chime in my two cents!

The reason I think the variations of the greens you're choosing are not working (and the Agave is too harsh for you) is because the Rosemary Sprig and Grasshopper look like they have a gray base to them, while the Agave has a yellow base.

If it were me, I'd take the samples you have of the Rosemary and GH back to the BM store and ask the staff designer to provide you with a couple of options for that third color. At least that way you'll know you have colors that are all in the same family (so to speak) :c)

Have you looked at Crocodile Tears...it is the most beautiful BM green..very light and goes with everything. c

I like Patricia's idea! It's funny, but the Agave and Grasshopper are on the same color card - Grasshopper is one step lighter than Agave. They both work very well together, but I think possibly my largest issue is that the lighting in the rooms makes the colors look harsh at certain times of day.

Now I really wanna see Crocodile Tears, but a search on the BM site doesn't turn it up. Trailrunner, are you sure it's a BM shade?

Really? Wow, on my computer the colors don't look like their related at all. It's a new laptop and this screen must be really off. Whaaaaa....

AuntJen - FWIW I think that the 1st proposed color combo w/ the Rosemary Sprig & Urban Nature is simply stunning and I would repaint. I'm not as wild about the 2nd proposed color combo since I think that it's starting to look to 'blendy' and I can see how you might think that the current LR color is a bit harsh now after having painted the DR.

I think the RS combo is the perfect shift from warmer to cooler while letting each color have it's own 'identity' but having anyone overwhelm the other. It's the perfect blend!

Lukki - yes, and I should have also added that the colors I've currently used (Agave, Grasshopper, and Urban Nature) are all in the Affinity line and are supposed to be formulated to harmonize together. :-/

Thanks, Ttodd! So you are liking Rosemary Sprig, Grasshopper, and Urban Nature? I've got a chip of BM Aventurine which, to me, looks very close to Rosemary Sprig. I've put it with my Grasshopper and Urban Nature chips, and it is very pretty.

My comments here are soley based on the way that I'm seeing the colors on the computer monitor - I haven't seen the actual chips together.

RS looks a hair warmer than Aventurine and one of the things that I liked about the RS, G and UN was the subtle transition from warmer to cooler (even if they may all read cool - can't tell for real w/o the chips).

I don't have an AF deck so I can't say how I like Aventurine w/ G & UN. Care to throw them together on the thread for a look-see?

Well, I love the direction you're going in, I just wonder if it may end up being too much green. You may want to at least find one contrasting color to help break it up a bit. Sorry, hate to say that, but.....

Lukki, that thought has occurred to me. I just have no idea what I'd choose as a contrasting color that was not in the green range. Any suggestions? If there's one room I'd want to be a lighter tone, it's the dining room. I've considered a cream/tan shade, but to be honest sometimes that color starts reminding me of a Band-aid. ;-) I just don't know at this point.

I'd do the hallway in a creamy white so the colors of the adjacent rooms shine on their own. :)

I like the RS, G, and UN together! Feel free to keep posting possible combinations since I will probably steal ideas now that I know UN will work for me thanks to your pictures!

Somewhere in my collection of either Country Living or Country Home there was a spread where every room in the house was a shade of green. OMG it was luscious! If anyine could pull it off you def. could Aunt Jen.

I used Rosemary Sprig and Grey Mirage together in my kitchen. . .RS for the wall oven stack and the desk/cabinet. . .and GM for the walls of my kitchen. The adjoining utility room is Revere Pewter. Colors were recommended by a lady who used to work at the local BM store. .she and I think they all play nicely together!!

AJ, Since you are going with a cottage, feel, why not do a wainscot type treatment? A soft creamy white on the bottom, cute little chair rail and then a super pale green or ? complimentary color on the top? Chair rails are the easiest of treatments to install and really can add to the room. To add some interest, you could raise it up higher and make it so the railing can hold plates.

Lukki, I love wainscoting, and the photos you've shared are just wonderful. (Adore the colors in the second one!) I'll give this some thought, although since I have so much artwork hung on the walls, I'd have to edit what I'm displaying. (And that's hard for me to do! ;-))

Right now, I keep mulling over the thought of a soft, light green throughout the house. I love, love, love the color in my bathroom - BM Hancock Green - although I'm not sure that's the "one" for taking throughout the rest of the house. I was talking to my dad yesterday (he understands decor better than any man I've ever known), and told him that at this point, I'm almost ready to throw my hands up and just slap a 'safe' ivory on all of the walls. His comment: "You know you won't be happy doing that." And he's right. My folks have friends who live in a renovated bungalow that's filled with wonderful southwest art, and they want me to see how it's painted. They've used greens and apparently it's just gorgeous. So I may wait and continue to mull things over. (Or I may just forge ahead at some point like I'm known to do. We shall see.)

Thinking in lighter terms (than BM Rosemary Sprig), I am also really loving BM Guilford Green. This is one step up on the color card from Hancock Green, which is the color in my bathroom.

Very pretty color. I think any color looks beautiful when it's framed with white like that, the real test would be to see it without so much white around it.

If that is the color in the bedroom pic, it is reading blue on my monitor. If the last chip really reads green on the wall, then go for it. It could easily be this darn monitor isn't the best to decipher subtle color changes?

Here is another shot of Guilford Green. It's kinda making me swoon. (Then again, I do that a lot where paint is concerned.) It's light, but my rooms tend to be dark which will deepen/intensify the shade a bit. I'm reading glowing online recommendations of this color by users. It's described mostly as a light gray-green.

I'm probably the only fool painting her living room on Thanksgiving Eve, but BM Guilford Green is going up on my walls and I am in love. This is the soft, vintage green of my dreams. It's exactly what I've envisioned and been searching for. I can easily see this color carried throughout my other rooms for a cohesive feel. I'm not sure how to describe the color on my walls - soft and semi-pistachio-like with a silvery gray undertone. It's luscious.

Oh, and no - we aren't hosting Thanksgiving dinner. Thank goodness.

Well, it sounds lovely AJ. You're lucky you aren't hosting. We are and I was hoping the updates to our kitchen and dining room would be done by now. They aren't though and two days ago, we were prepping for paint. There's oil paint on the walls now so we have some serious sanding and TSP washing to do. Got to love yellow dust.

Its taking way longer than expected to finish. We had to stop mid process so hubby could focus on school and I could prep for today. It looks lovely, a sanded room with a new drywall ceiling and framed window. I don't know whether to laugh or cry. I am thankful we've been able to do the project and it's almost done but I'm also thankful that its only a few of us that will be here this year because it's really ugly right now. LOL
