Congrats to you and your new little one!! I have been looking for curtains/drapes for my dining room slider and I have found some great choices on jcpenney.com and also country curtains.com. Your room is lovely and I think a colorful print would be great... it would be shame to cover all that beautiful moulding but there are inside mount valances or how bout a panel on each window with a tieback.. for example, left window with tieback to left and right window with a tieback to the right.. then the moulding won't be totally hidden under panels on both sides of the window...hopefully i am making sense.. and for the slider either a matching valance or a slider panel.. I have ordered panels for my slider from jcp that are backordered but should be shipped any day now.. My room is painted Behr winter wheat with white wainscotting on bottom half of the walls so I went with spicy red to add some more color to the room.. I'll post a pic when they come in.. Hope this works this time!!!! What do think of these panels for my family room? I have one panel on a north window. The north wall is painted Hopsack and all other walls are Latte by Sherwin Williams. There are also windows on the east and west side of room. The room gets a lot of light. I will be getting new curtain rods and will extend them out 3-4 inches beyond the moulding. I'm just frustrated becasue I cannot find anything that I like. I was thinking of a chocolate brown buffalo check with a brick red coordinating fabric, but I cannot find a nice chocolate buffalo check fabric.

Definitely following the consensus and going with blinds over curtains - I'm thinking something neutral since I don't yet know what color we will paint the walls (and also, since these windows are so small, I don't necessarily want to draw attention to the window area). decoenthusiaste: You are right, we don't actually need blackout. Definitely agree that we need to bring into more light, especially table lamps, to warm up the space. Maureen: I agree that ~white walls and light furniture is the way to go.
