This is the FIRST time I have had green in a home, and absolutely love it. Our master bedroom and bath is now green, BM Rosemary Spring. I find it very restful.

I have none either, Patty. Unless you count some Fiestaware dishes in lemongrass. I used to have a Forest Green office and loved it.

No green here except for house plants.

Hmmmm, I've done grey this time around, on the walls, with the exception of the master bed. Wouldn't really call the colour green, rather a weird yellow. But I do have some green accents - in the pattern on my livingroom chairs as well as my (peeling) dresser in the kitchen. I do really enjoy yellow based greens and lemongrass greens....heck, I like most colours

No green here, either, except accidental traces of it in some of my fabrics and rugs. I also don't have much red in our house. I am a blue person through and through.

I had green on my kitchen walls for quite a few years and also in our living room for a couple of years. I still have it in textiles and accessories, but on walls, not any more. I do love many shades of green but felt I was ready for a change. I will say that our living room has been painted Behr's Beeswax (a shade of ochre) for quite a long time. I paint each room every 3-5 years and it's been re-painted Beeswax twice now, so I must love it. I'm finding I'm drawn to golden ochre-toned colors and deeper blues for the backdrop (walls) with either soft white or cream trim. We recently purchased a smoky navy blue sectional that I absolutely love, which is something "out of the box" for me. In the past I would have gone with something "safer" such as a mossy green, but when I pictured what I wanted it to look like in my mind's eye, I kept being drawn again and again to blue.

TEXANJANA, my last house was my first also, and like I said, loved it so much it lasted for 5 years, until I put it on the market to sell.

CRICKET, I lied! I have a few solid sage green dishes, and a red floral w/some green.

LIDO, yep me too, but i've found silks with goldish/brown leaves.

BARKINGMAD, it goes to prove we only use color we love.

MEG, I hear ya! Have done the red already too, and loved it, but don't miss it. I'm finding i'm starting to be attracted to the aqua blue w/a gray hue~I may be painting a BR soon.

MRSMARV, When you're drawn to a color, you're *really* drawn. I'm the same w/golden tans, dark or light, but they have to be a warm hue. The navy sofa sounds gorgeous~sometimes it's nice to step outside the box and live on the wild side.

No green in our house, either. DH's mother's home had an all-green LR and DR - light green walls, dark green carpet, green drapes, and green-gold upholstery. He hates the color. Similar to me, with the all-gray apartment in which I grew up. So no green or gray in our house.

I do like green a lot, though, and work it in in some accessories. My favorite colors are in the aqua-turquoise-teal range, although not on the walls.

No green. Very strong on teals and aqua. Touches of red. I'm trying to move out of my "blue" period, but having the devil's own time doing it!

My theory is that people are either "blue and yellow" people or "red and green" people. I am definitely the latter. But because my full-time house is all greens, reds, and golds (except for the bedrooms), my summer cottage has NO green at all. Lots of blues and yellows there with bits of red around because I have to have some red!

I'm not a green person either. We do have a bit of aqua.

I love green! Actually I love all colors. That's why I have neutral rooms so that I can change out accessories as the mood strikes. No green walls here.

No green here. I do have a red kashan rug. So owning red does not make one want to own green as well. :0)

No greens here either, DH doesn't like green paint on anything. Lots of yellows and blues in our home though.

Lots of green and orange and yellow and gray, but absolutely no blue here. Never liked blue in home decor, dunno why.

I certainly don't fit into sueb20's mold.....people are either "blue and yellow" people or "red and green" people... because I have lots of blue, yellow AND red....but no green. DH has begged me not to use it. I personally love some of the new green shades I've seen others decorate with, and would love to use it, but marital harmony is more important than satisfying a decorating itch.

I have a dark green chair which matches the red in the room, and some green depression glass, but I'm not a fan of green on the walls. I find it too depressing. Every now and then I see a color I like, but it's more in the pastel green.

OTOH, I do like green walls if it has paneling or beadboard below it.

In my first house, I painted each room in a strong colour, with zero uniting theme (hey, it was fun). I painted the hallway a dark, azure blue (turned out shiny smurf blue). And I had a fabulous Men at Work Orange walls in the kitchen. Before selling the house, I repainted the whole house in various shades of griege. And I learnt a couple of things: everyone complimented me on the new wall colours (the colour of drywall mud, I thought) once it was repainted, but never on the bright colours; my ex asked when we got the new artwook in the hallway (it was there, on the dark blue, the whole time - he never saw it, I guess); and, an orange kitchen is fine, as long as you don't repeatedly think that the house is on fire when you see an orange glow eminating from the window in the evening....

No green, but really want some! DH is not a fan of green, so we have more in the blue range with neutral walls. I am planning to change that when I paint the bedrooms and kitchen. He actually picked out a yellow for the library and steps leading down to it. He took a throw pillow from the couch to have the paint matched. I was astonished! Looks great except in the stairwell where the light with a CF bulb makes the yellow look almost neon greenish yellow. Need to change that bulb back to incandescent!

I used to decorate pretty much exclusively with green and shades of brown. In the last five years or so, I've branched out to include red (blue-red), which I love, and some blue, which I ended up not liking (the dark blue bedroom painting debacle of 2004 is still VERY fresh in my mind...lol). Most recently, aqua, teal, and white came into the picture. I've always used touches of black, which I consider a neutral.

I tend to avoid oranges, yellows (unless it's yellow-green, which I love), and gray. I have no gray in my house that I can think of.

It looks like I fit into both categories because a few years ago our house had the kitchen with green walls and red countertops and the living room with green walls and a red furnishings (sofa & chair), and now we're ochre walls in the living room and a navy blue sectional, and smoky federal slate blue walls in the office and spare room and goldish/ochre furnishings.

This is my 3rd kitchen painted Ardmore green!! When I did this last one, I thought I should grow past this color & must be so old fashioned!! I have green accents in about every room - except bedroom - and branched out to blue in there. Even thou, I admire the very neutral rooms that are in the mags now - I know deep down I am an autumn girl and like being surrounded by nature's colors.

People usually use a specific word when describing their homes:cozy, inviting, elegant, casual, warm, rustic, etc. I've come to think of mine as charming, since a neighbor walked in and that's the first word that came out of her mouth. She did follow up with 'cozy feeling', which I always like to hear cause those are the words that make you feel right at home. I love coming home. ;o)

I *love* green, but when I built this home and it was finished, I didn't get a feeling for green at all. I did *feel* it in my last home, and it looked so good.
