I think a taupe color. You don't want to go so dark. Also, go for a deeper colr on your floors. This will balance your walls with the floor and make for a comfortable, warm feel in your home.

I have decided finally on Mississipi Mud, a Behr color, for our downstairs bathroom. My DH calls the color coffee with one creamer. That color would look great with burnt orange accents. I am going the opposite and doing green accents, with everything else in the room white.

Burnt orange, Aqua, Turquoise! Oh my gosh! Those are the exact colors my parents used in their new home in 1954. Their home was the talk of the neighborhood. Very modern with burnt orange cabinets and black wrought iron in the bathroom. It was gorgeous then and I still think those combinations are gorgeous! They used black for accents, but brown would work just as well. I might give a bit softer look than black. Please post pix when you're done. I can't wait to see it!

I have been wanting to do the burnt orange accents for a while, but my walls are currently yellow. I just started wondering whether the brown tone might clash with the burnt orange. I was also considering doing the walls gray.

I dont have pictures yet, but brown and orange are great colors together, they certainly dont clash. There are lots of pictures for inspiration with those two colors on the web. It will be gorgeous.

I am considering a similar color scheme for our to-be-facelifted basement family room. I happened to find this today, maybe you'll find it helpful too! I'm going to recover our Ikea chair in this Turquoise Henna fabric, paint the walls a taupey color (looking at BM Stone Hearth at the moment) and bring in some orange accents. We also have a dark brown leather sofa.

I was at Bed Bath and Beyond tonight and they had several sets of drapes in the burnt orange/ brown scheme, as well as pillow, throws, and art work.

And, walmart also had some nice pillows in the orange/turquoise/brown scheme in the bedding section. Normally, I don't like the quality of walmart home items, but I had really good luck with an animal print comforter (much much better quality and much cheaper than one I got at Macy's that only lasted me six months). Walmart also had some nice kitchen rugs in the burnt orange.

I am finding burnt orange everywhere--which makes it so much easier. I thought it might have gone out of style as I loved it about 7 years ago.

I am excited as now I have a vision in mind. Hopefully picking a paint color won't be as difficult as the last time around when I was picking yellow paint.

I am going to look at the stone hearth. My friend has valspar lyndhurst timber and it looks really nice. Also, will look at the Mississippi mud.

I wasn't suggesting the print, just the general color scheme. I may have to take a trip to BBB and see if they have any accents for my room!

I've got tans, and burnt oranges all over my house, with my other accent color a green instead of turquoise. I LOVE autumnal colors all year round...they're so warm and inviting.
