Mine is not done yet but this will give you another look at Typhoon Bordeaux. It is amazing to my how the same granite can look so different. Mine does not have a lot of the red in it, just a few spots here and there. I know this isn't one of the choices you offered, but have you thought about crystal knobs? I think they would look great with all of your other materials. They are timeless. If you are set on your two choices, I would go with the nickel. I think it would pick up on the colors in your granite nicely. I have oil rubbed bronze knobs in my kitchen and although I do like them (I think it's been 4-5 yrs now), I think bronze may be on its way out, design fashion wise (sorry to all of you oil rubbed bronze fans, myself included!)

We are having Typhoon Bordeaux installed next week. We are planning to use the same tile backsplash we used in our previous house because we loved it so much and had so many compliments on it. We use Tuscany Travertine subway tiles on the 12 x 12 mesh backing. The tiles are 2 x 4 and they are beveled on the edges. We used 1 full 12 x 12 from bottom of upper cabinets down, then a row of Noce Listello 4 x 12 with an antique bronze medallion and then finished with about 1/4 of a 12 x 12 piece across the bottom. The Tuscany Travertine just seems to match everything perfectly. I ordered 2 boxes from Home Depot this morning. Working with the 12 x 12 mesh pieces is soooo easy to install. I did our last kitchen myself and I had never tiled before.

Hi robin, Which backsplash to pick..that is the question! My kitchen is similar to yours. I have Cherry Pecan cabinets with Typhoon Bordeaux counters. I've been to several tile places and have had some good advice from the Garden Web. A beige-like brushed and polished marble Botticino (recommended by Bill from the Garden web). 2. A porcelain cream colored tile which faintly resembles marble without all of the inconsistencies and maintenance. 3. A bisquit (off white) crackle subway tile. Disregard the darker tile: I like all three however my concern is that the marbles may be too busy looking once installed, and the crackle tile may look too plain and will not "marry" the cabinet with the counter.
