Can you wash your hair in a vessel sink?

Comments (11)a slab of stone seems to be quite common, and it looks nice. Concrete, in some places. Glass is used--sometimes backpainted, sometimes tinted. Some photos show wood--though there are risks w/ that, of course. You could use a very modern tile, I suppose--I'm thinking 1x1-inch, in porcelain or glass. Either clinical white, or perhaps beautiful aquas and metallics. Or a bigger tile, just one that's very sleek. Any of the solid countertops: stones (granite, marble), Silestone, quartz, soapstone, solid-surfacing (Corian, etc.). Stainless is used sometimes, but I see it w/ white sink, not clear glass. Some vessel sinks just sort of float out there on brackets, but that could be hard in a guest bathroom, if your guests will need to set their toothbrushes down on something. (for a powder room, it would be OK) For a modern spa, you want both luxury and clinical cleanliness. Maybe marble? How much storage do you want? For a spa look, you don't want anything very bulky. But if you go with a vanity of some sort, and can stash cleaning supplies and extra toilet paper in it. Maybe a skinny vanity, w/ modern lines? that will also hide the plumbing. And you can put the TP on the inside of the doors. And you can put a slab on top that's much wider than the pedestal, for more contrast? (and to emphasize the skinniness of the vanity?) You don't want your counter surface to distract from the sink. Comments (11)We've lived with a hand blown glass vessel sink in our powder room for close to 10 years. We've had two teak wood vessel sinks in our master bath for about 4 years. We love the look and the fact that all these sinks are artisan crafted and the focal points of both baths. They are very functional and I don't buy into the "it's a trend that will pass" comments - vessel sinks have been in use for over a century... If your faucet height and spout locations are correct, splashing should not be an issue. As for copper vessels, check out CopperSinksOnline.com - we have bought several copper sinks from them and they are a great company with awesome products. When you go to their home page, check out the "Copper Sinks 101" article. These sinks are simply soap and water clean up with an occasional (maybe once every few months) "waxing" that takes all of 60 seconds. We are redoing a guest bath right now and just ordered a free standing copper tub, double wall copper vessel and vanity from them as well. I have put a link to the vessel - they are very cool! We bought our faucets from them and got 10% off for some special they have going on right now. It may be a few months, but I'll post pics of this remodel when it's complete. Here is a link that might be useful: Acorn Copper Vessel...See MoreDo you have a bath out by your pool?
Comments (2)Pools are negative for resale so it doesnt really matter. Our neighbor's had their master bath facing the backyard. So they put a door to the outside from the master bath and will use that as a pool bathroom. It was an inexpensive and nice way to have a pool bathroom. We are thinking about doing the same thing, but it would require redoing the entire bathroom so we probably wont do it right away....See Moregraywings123
