That site definitely has very very similar things. I can see how maybe those brackets were once brass - all the original brass doorknobs are still there, and have a similar appearance. Obviously the old brackets have been painted, but that could be done to a new one. I'm going to look around some more and try to find a double-rod version... anyone with similar links or hints feel free to comment! Thanks!

Wow sabbath7, great ideas and very talented husband! Your results look great! To clarify my question a bit more, Pottery Barn offers an angled connector specialty for corner and bay windows. They screw right into their rods and therefore eliminate the space needed to end and start and new rod (Since my space is pretty limited). I've had my eye on those rods from Ballard Design and like the acrylic/lucite look for the very reason of trying not to interfere with the trim, and let it just play the role of holding drapes and otherwise blend in. However, trying to find the comparable corner connector pieces is a bit trickier. As of now, I am considering the smaller .75" rod from Pottery Barn with their corner pieces (adding a ceiling mount across the long span since there is no place to mount the hardware on the wal) and use the pleated pole pocket look to further hide the rod and get the drapes to as close to the ceiling as possible.
