small bath with tub 100% finished - Eco-friendly
Comments (9)I love the TP holder, how the towels bring all the colors together, and your attention to the small details. I added the TP holder to my own bathroom notes. We are doing a gut in a year or two. I will also be using Swanstone for walls, but also using their ADA floor with the trough drain at the outer edge. I plan to take the wall panels to the ceiling. Is the cost so much more to do so, or did you simply like the more traditional look of lower shower walls? Mine is in an alcove, so I think that makes more of an argument for going all the way up for me, too. Are you loving the wall panels? Is the niche working well for you? I can't wait to get rid of my wire shampoo bottle hanger! I had a Toto with the special glazing inside in my last house. Don't you find that you don't need to use the toilet brush as often? I miss mine. I might steal your idea for the crown molding, too. I really admire your use of ecologically conscious materials. That is harder to do in a bath. Comments (4)For what purpose are you lining the shelves? For ease of cleaning? For decorative purposes? For cushioning against small jolts? For quiet? How about fabric? I'm thinking of something along the line of thick linen (real 100% flax), neatly hemmed flat, or just overcast/serged if it's too thick for hemming. Or if it's for cushioning (say in a deep drawer where dishes are stored) then fabric covers over thin pads made from Quiet-Table felting. Fabrics would be inexpensive and completely washable and re-usable. If you decided to go for another look, they'd easily be repurposed as cleaning or drying cloths, depending on what they were made of. If you just want a thin layer, try butchers' paper cut to size in one or two layers. You could eventually reuse that to start fires. HTH, L....See MoreKitchen cabinets

Comments (4)You might check out Huggy Bear Cupboards. They're in Portland. We almost used them (we're in the SF Bay Area and they have a couple of dealers here) since we wanted painted Shaker-style inset cabinets, and they were the most competitive price we found except for the custom guy we finally went with. I've only seen their frameless cabinets---none of the showrooms here had the inset---but they seemed well made, and they use good hardware (Blum full-extension standard on the inset). They're technically semi-custom, not custom---mainly this matters b/c if you don't like the paint colors they offer, I don't know if they will do a custom paint job. But as far as sizes, they were willing to build everything in our totally crazy kitchen plan....See Morekaismom
