Does anyone have this Carrington Court chair?

I'm looking for chairs for the table in the library. I'm trying to find some that don't look like typical kitchen or dining chairs but that will fit under the lip of table I already have. Add to that, I don't want one that is hard as a rock. I've been looking at inexpensive dining chairs but most of them are so hard (even though upholstered) that you might as well be sitting on a wood seat.

I've loved these chairs since I first saw them from, I'm pretty sure, someone else here on the boards. I'd love to know if someone actually has them (or any Carrington Court chairs) and if they are hard or if they have any "give" to them.

I don't have that Carrington chair, but do have 2 of the skirted parsons chairs. They are extremely comfortable, and the seats are the right combination of soft and firm.

Waht fabric is that? IMO the only fabric for dining chairs in a light color would be something like Sunbrella or leather . Many fabrics should not be scotchguareded and if that is not an option then I would keep looking

Seats on any dining chair are lasting according to the weight of the person sittin on them no mterial will stand up nice and full with a 300Lb person sitting there all the time. As for the fabric you need tosee what the fabric says as to use , wear colorfastness etc we have no idea of your life or use.

That's what I think too, Susan. I think their product must be fairly standardized because of the great value they offer for the money.

I was just looking at that exact chair a few nights ago!

I'm trying to talk DH into getting rid of the pool table in the great room (which hasn't been used in years) and replacing it with a round table and 4 chairs. We need a game room/homework/library type space more than we need an entire room dedicated to a neglected pool table.

I'm torn between 4 club chairs with a lower table for more of a conversation area, or a standard height table that would be better for games and homework. Either way, I'd like a chair that's comfortable enough to sit for longer periods of time.

If you decide on these chairs, please let me know how you like them.

juddgirl - I've gone back and forth on the table height too! We have an antique oak clawfoot table with a big leaf in it so when hubby has his game group over they have lots of room to spread out. But the table is also in front of the picture windows which go almost to the ground so I would love to have a lower profile in there, just a pair of chairs with a low table. DH says he's okay either way but I fear he might not feel the same way once the table was gone.

But comfort is a big deal too because when they're gaming, they're here for 8-10 hours.

I'm thinking I might just order two chairs to see if I like them and then I can always order two more. We really only "need" two but I like the look of four.

Definitely let me know if you like them and how the size works out. I'm curious as to the quality and comfort of the chair and the fabrics (there are so many to choose from!).

Our great room is directly across from the living room that has the usual couch/chair/coffee table conversation area, so I'm leaning more towards the standard table and chair height for the great room. Perfect for games and homework but also for sitting around having a glass of wine with the girls while the men are in the next room watching football :-)

(This is all assuming I can talk DH into getting rid of the pool table, which I'm not going to even attempt until I talk him into getting the stainless steel kitchen appliances!)

I know, Chinchette. And the frustrating thing is that 6 months ago there were two of them there. I need to wait to get the estimate from the HVAC guy on the ductwork we need to have replaced and then, depending, I will order.

I have two CC chairs...an armless parson's style and a wing style with arms. They are both beautiful and extremely comfortable. The seats are padded and also have good springs. HTH
