I've snipped glasstile mosaic but it's hard to get a sharp edge... unless there's something I don't know that I could do it better! You could just cut a single row and then you'll only have a 1/2" gap. It might then be easier to find a liner.

not a bad idea. With grout would that 1/2" gap be noticeable at all?

Why don't you dry fit the tile ... couldn't you hold it up wiht painters tape or something? You'd get a visual and if needed could then look for a thin liner. It would look cool with single row, liner, then 12x12.

Have you checked whether they have the same tile in 1"x.5"? Sometimes called mini-bricks?

I like Remodelfla's suggestion too, but if you have a light rail you might want to put the liner lower. :)

plllog - i've looked for the smaller mini-bricks and unfortunately they don't offer it. I thought they would offer things like that for instances like this. Thanks everyone so far for your input. this is great.
