Pros/Cons: 3 single bays -VS- 1 double bay + 1 single bay Garage
Comments (17)I prefer the look of single doors, but the versatility of a double door would win it for me. A double allows you to park in the middle which is helpful in many instances if you want to work on or clean the inside of the vehicle under a roof. It is also helpful when you have elderly guests coming to visit and the weather is bad. Easier for them to get in and out along with any equipment such as wheel chairs or walkers. You could still accommodate the above, but you'd have to make each single bay larger....See MoreFrench doors or single door for fridge?
Comments (15)I prefer the look of a french door, but the functionality of a single door. So single door it is. I'm not organized enough (read: my family would never follow my rules of organization) to utilize a french-door fridge in a way that you would only really need to open one door at a time. The saleslady suggested "breakfast on the left, lunch on the right!" But really, we put things away wherever there is space, and the thought of having to remind the kids that yogurt goes on the left (or whatever) put me off the idea entirely. Plus I like having counterspace right next to the door opening, which you can't have with a french door fridge. Oh, and my single door fridge was about an inch shallower than the french door options I was looking at, so it will project a little less beyond the counter than the french-door fridges would have....See MoreFrench Door Counter Depth Refrigerators // Pros and Cons
Comments (16)We have had the fridgidaire counter depth french door unit in two different houses and found it totally sufficient for 2 adults and kid. It did not have a water dispenser, which freed up a lot of space. We are not food hoarders, and tend to only have a few days at a time. I don't think CD fridges (or any fridges, for that matter), work well for people who go to costco once a month and stock up on everything. We also prefer to have an extra fridge in the garage for beer, soda and freezer overflow during the holidays. We are currently in a house where we inherited a kitchenaid CD fridge and hate it. Like the fridigdaire, it doesn't have a water dispenser. But it is amazing how much smaller the interior space is compared with the fridigeaire. For instance, on the shelf on the right hand door where you keep milk -- the fridgidaire fit exactly two gallons of milk. This one only fits one and a couple miscellaneous drink bottles (like 2 wine bottles, or a wine and OJ bottle). My son drinks milk with breakfast every day, so when we are low on milk, we always buy another gallon. Before we run out of the last one. Which means the extra gallon ALWAYS has to be shoved into one of the main shelves on its side. So agree with others - confirm that the interior space is good usable space. I highly recommend the fridgidaire model....See MoreSingle vs. Double Barn Door- Pros and Cons?
Comments (15)I even have an actual barn and don't want barn doors on it! I say go with something simpler to use and more practical. If you absolutely are going with barn doors, I would have two. Then instead of moving an insanely large door back and forth you could leave one closed all the time and just haul the other one open and closed....See MoreBuehl
