I would say dark grey for the table base since the top has he mahogany finish. Too light of grey and it will skew "white" which is not what I think you are looking for. I would reserve judgment on the feet until after you paint. They may just look green. I would probably polish them, or if I was feeling particularly obsessive, get them replated.

I would do a bit darker grey, to work with the richness of the top. Requisite Grey also reads a bit brown. Maybe Dorian Grey,SW7017?

As for the feet, I would think a pewter finish or a polished nickel would be amazing with the grey.

I think some antiquing on the base might be nice to highlight all the detail. Would it be possible to use the same stain as for the top to antique, to pull that mahogany color down to the base?

The actual grey color will be in the same hue as Requisite Gray. DH is only mixing black and grey lacquers that he has.

After reading Pal's post and then yours Les I started thinking about the chandelier in the DR. I'm re-using the one that was in the house when we bought it. It's brass and sinilar to this new one pictured below, but I've wanted to spray paint it a different finish for quite some time. Maybe silver is something to consider then for both the feet of the table and the finish of my chandelier?

Hmm...that's tough one. I'm having a hard time visualizing dark gray with that top. I would probably try to lean toward a light brownish gray end of the spectrum. If you do a darker color, all the angles and details in the pedestals will recede and not be as noticeable (maybe that's what you want?) but I think the table is very pretty and would want to showcase the lovely pedestals.

I think (if you haven't done it already) that you should go with a dark gray. Could be very nice with your color scheme! The chalkboard wall sounds like so much fun! I'd love to see the entire room. It sounds like you're really transforming the space into a beautiful entertaining area.

When did YOU do the BM Ashwood? I painted my bedroom this color last month and am SO happy with it. Still working on putting stuff back and making new drapes. Scary how many times you and I are liking the same colors, not to mention the great table! Love it.

What a cool find! I love it. I like the dark gray concept for the base, and also agree about finding a tone that leans brown and/or antiquing with brown.

Red - I bought a sample about 2 wks. ago. It is funny how we both tend to like the same colors! I haven't fully completed the walls yet but hopefully this wknd. the other Ashwood walls will be done. I should be able to begin hanging my ironstone on Sunday. The directions on the Command Tape said to wait 7 days before hanging. I'm going to try to get my wall vases up today on the blackboard wall - I just found them last night when I tripped over them in our bedroom.

DH said that he didn't get to paint the bases yet. Fingers crossed it will be soon and I think that I am leaning towards a medium gray w/ a brown wax overtop.
