When you are in Photobucket, place your mouse pointer on the picture you want to post,a small box just under the left corner of the picture will appear, click in this box and then choose another picture and repeat for as many pictures as you wish. Then scroll down to the toolbar at the near bottom of the page and click on the title that reads Generate HTML and IMG Code, when the next window opens you have 5 choices. The first two are the best to use in a forum, but your choices are listed in all 5 areas. Highlight (right click in the area) and copy (left click to copy) the desired code area. Then come back here to your message and paste (left click). Try them both, but remember you have to "Preview Message" before the pictures will appear for you to proof read. Hope this helps, Belle

Ok, you guys are fabulous! I am really struggling with the fact that dh wants to be SO involved with every decorating decision. lukkiirish - I followed you, I think! Red accent with neutral, not red with gold! I like the idea of the stripe and will have to see what dh thinks of that after what we discussed last night. I think that BM Monroe Bisque looks great with BM Tuscan Red, but now dh is leaning in a different direction, lol! threedgrad - thank you! I always forget about those threads metromom - THANK you! That was the exact description I used with dh the other day and it helps to have someone else agree with me. equest17 - your rooms are lovely! If we decide to go with a red accent, I will keep those colors in mind. After dh went to the BM store last night and picked up 4 more of their large red swatches and one gold, he is more sold on gold than red. I'm not too familiar with EK paint but it looks like ICI paints sells them locally. I am hoping to stick to Benjamin Moore, though since I get a discount there through work. The color he brought home is BM Dorset Gold, which I thought at first might be too dark, but after seeing it in several different lighting conditions, I think might work. There is also a picture of it in someone's kitchen in the Yellow and Gold thread in the Gallery that looks nice. Any experience with that color, or another nice gold in the BM line? Also, I forgot to mention the painted brick fireplace in the room. We are hoping to reface it with stacked stone (or tile if we can't afford that) eventually, but for now I think we may just need to paint it. It's not the most attractive fireplace, but does anyone have any suggestions for a color to paint it if we go with a gold? Maybe something brown??? I initially thought we'd just paint it the same as the trim color, but perhaps we can give it an accent color. I was thinking BM Acadia White, or BM Cloud white for trim. Would those work with a gold? Lastly, I need a coordinating color for the hallway and stairs that is lighter and more neutral. You can see the stairwell into the basement from the LR, which is painted RH Latte. I had been planning on painting the whole stairwell and basement BM Monroe Bisque before dh expressed his strong opinion, but I don't know if that will work in a room adjacent to the gold.

Your line about "who makes the cut" has really struck a nerve with me. Let me explain. I have the strong opinion that you can do whatever you want with the photos (ie. "who makes the cut"). What you see and how you feel from the displays is all you. A display with a topic theme, color theme, or whatever theme is going to be fabulous as long as you go with your heart and your gut. I had a terrible MIL (EX now!) who actually took the time to inventory WHO was displayed in photos, HOW they were displayed, and concocted her own storylines on why I elected to leave out certain people, include others, and have some more prominent than others. She had the gall to have "sit-down talks" with me several times about my choices in displayed photos. She started sending photos with little post-it notes on where they would "look nice" & which one's I should change out. It gnawed at her to no end that I changed nothing despite her passive-aggressive instructions. I hope your family and/or friends are not the likes of the old hag I used to deal with. You should never, EVER have to explain the reasonings (themes, etc) of photos and why you display what you do. Don't want to bring a downer to this & hope I'm not making you think harder into it. This just brought back some bad memories and it's really too bad it had to go that way. End of therapeutic vent. Gayle

I really like SW accessible beige. It's light and crisp but works with warm colors. Kilim biege can sometimes have a peachy undertone. I would also caution you not to jump right into painting the fireplace bright white. It doesn't need to match the trim. A painted fireplace often looks plasticy because the paint blots out the texture and the mortar. Leave it alone until after you do your wall color. if you still don't like it, do a light wash as suggested above. I also like the idea of a mantle update too. Your current mantle seems a bit formal compared to the rest of the room.
