Finally finished - here are my pics!!

After 4+ months of a pretty extensive renovation, we are finally 98% finished. I am so thankful for all of the wonderful advice and ideas I gained from all of you TKO Webbers. I am so happy to now share my pictures and the details with you.

Here it is:

Cabinets - custom maple Shaker-style in a mahogany finish

Granite - Giallo Ornamentale

Sinks - Ticor single bowl and 16" round prep sink

Faucets - Delta Allora

Floor tile - Farnese gold (Centura or Ceretec??)

Range Hood - Euro Kitchen (from the Internet)

Range - Kenmore Elite electric slide-in (not sure if I like it!!)

Refrigerator - Samsung French Door

Dishwasher - Kenmore Elite

Bar Fridge - GE

Backsplash - cream subway tiles and mixed glass/tumbled marble mosaic, but I am not sure what they are called (sorry!).

I really appreciate all of your input, and thanks for looking!

erin, you did an incredible job. I love all of the earth tones and how well they flow together. And that little guy in the background is sure a cutie also! Congratulations on a gorgeous kitchen!

Let me just say that I am sooooooo jealous of the ficus quercifolia! I want this plant so bad! I know Rob's has it, so I'll be ordering it next summer, but I want it now! You know how it goes. . . anyways, looks great! You may find that you want to vary the slopes in the 'land' more, for greater interest. This will also help convey a feeling of depth. I used to have mine set up very similar to yours, with a flattish plane, and then plants up the back and sides. Now I want more interest in the ground level, so I am making it into levels, using terracing. I think I will also be able to fit more plants in this way. =) At first I was quite happy to have mine just as yours is though, so if you're happy with it, by no means feel compelled to change it! It still looks great, and will be even better when everything fills out.

Hi again, Thanks so much for the measurements! I think we can work something like that in our smaller bedroom and still have enough floor for his bed.... I will have to measure tomorrow when I don't risk making noise near the bedrooms (our sons sleep with their door open). He still wants to sleep with his brother, but they have made a few comments about having their own rooms soon. We can relocate the computer and set up the room as originally intended for him. Wow, thank you, everyone, for your kind and encouraging words. Having spent countless hours, taking notes from this site (even when I knew some things were impossible to achieve in this kitchen) and quietly admiring all of your beautiful kitchens, from the big, jaw-dropping ones to the smaller, but oh so lovingly personalized ones, it means a lot to me and my SO that so many of you like what we've done so far. As newbies to all of this, we questioned every single small decision we made, and then questioned it some more, never quite sure if we made the right choice--especially going with practically the same color floor and cabinets--so it's great to get some positive feedback. Except the soffit. We never questioned that decision. We knew those had to vamoose! You should see the ones we took out of the bathrooms! EEEeeeeek! Anyways, thank you so much!

Marthavila - I think that is the nicest thing anyone ever said about any kitchen. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Dianalo and Boylanite2 - the stove is my pride and joy. This is what started the whole reno, although for a long time the Blue Star was the forerunner. Of course the hood had to follow. I have to say, I went through so many versions of tiles and marble, and backsplash patterns, and of course, I have been influenced by the white subway tile versions, until I realized that mine was not a white subway tile kitchen, no matter how much I may like the subway tile look, and then I just stumbled upon this tile at some closeout place and it turned out perfect. Andi - Travertine Mart was great to work with. Their pricing, with delivery, was so much lower than anyone local that it took everyone out of the running, and the quality is great. I have looked at lesser tiles locally that cost at least 4 times as much, and that's after you add their shipping costs. I would recommend getting liftgate delivery from them, as it's a minimal surcharge and the truck comes with a forklift to unload everything. This stuff is HEAVY and the pavers are almost twice as thick as my tiles. My tile color is country classic, which is a mix of ivory, noche and what they call blue, which is really a version of gray, in the brushed and chiseled version. It needed to be filled unlike the outdoor pavers. If you use an enhancing sealer, the color comes out brighter and the variation is more noticeable, but I wanted the floor to be the backdrop, so we just used a regular sealer that does not enhance the color. I would highly recommend them shipping costs notwithstanding. I'm already toying with the idea of using the pavers outside, although, budget constraints aside, it may be too cold here in the winter for travertine. Thanks for your kind comments! Here are a couple of close-ups of my backsplash. Unfortunately, they came from a distributor (http://www.elegantflooring.ca/). The manufacturer may be Sanchis Azulejos - but I can't find the tile on their website. Here is another pic:

Thanks for so many nice complements! Thanks Laurie_2008, I forgot to mention my hardware, it is Amerock brand, from the Mulholland Collection in satin nickel.

We are loving the transformation - we were living in a small 71/2' by 111/2' family room and a small chopped up kitchen to this lovely family kitchen/living space. With to little ones (aged 4 and 17mos.) it is so nice to know that we will have a beautiful space to live in, enjoy, and grow together. Thanks for all your great feedback. I'm also pleasd to answer and questions you may have.
