@SaraDixon- if you are having a person that works FOR Cambria coming, it means two things. #1- your stone was sold to you (and perhaps fabricated) by a certified Cambria dealer. and #2- you'll be in great hands. We've sold Cambria for many years and have had one maybe two small issues (a spec of wrong color in the stone). Not only were the issues handled timely (even during a holiday), each customer was thoroughly impressed and satisfied. Cambria personnel is expertly trained and stand 100% behind their product. You also have to understand that Cambria is the manufacture of material. There are other elements at play here- like the fabricator/installer/designer. I wish you the best of luck with your issue Sara! But if Cambria is coming, you don't need it. As for potential Cambria customers, you should all know that since September 2018 they now have a LIFETIME Warranty. This is a warranty that can be passed down to new homeowners if you ever sell your house and the warranty covers any sort of bill that may be inquired during the warranty process (plumber, contractor etc) You can read more about this warranty here: https://www.cambriausa.com/customer-care/warranty/ No other quartz company has a warranty like this. We have sold and do sell other quartz manufacturers, but Cambria no doubt is the best (not only because it is made in the USA, and because of their phenominal warranty) but because of what you get for the money. You'll spend more on Silestone, Zodiaq and Ceasarstone and you won't have the same color options, or even quality in some cases, for the price.

Thanks so much for all of the information My biggest concern is that in as much as I am wheelchair bound I can't even take a countertop measurement myself and after 2 phone calls to Costco's " My Countertop " + 2 emails to their subcontractor in a month's time......I have given up on Costco and don't want to use a subcontractor who obviously has so little interest in doing a countertop for me I just want somebody in Suffolk/Nassau County who will do a good job installing my countertop. I am not looking to " nickel & dime " anyone on price but I don't want to get anyone who will " nickel & dime " me either. I would love to find somebody who will do the entire job well ( including removing & discarding old countertop & sink and installing new countertop & sink ) I would also like to find someone who is willing to come to my house...take professional measurements ...discuss my options to me....make suggestions if needed and show me various samples I don't think that's too much to ask and I hope that there is a good fabricator out there who could do it all for me which I will gladly pay for

You do not need to stack two 2cm slabs on top of each other to make it look like you are using 4cm thick slabs. You only need a small amount of extra material (1-2â inches depending on edge type) to beef up just the outside edges of the counters. Laminated or mitered edges are very common here in So. Cal., where most stone and quartz is sold in 2cm size, rather than 3cm. The fabricator will put a 5/8â thick plywood subtop that is a little narrower than the finished counter size on top of the cabinet. Then the 2cm slab counter is put on top of the plywood. A narrow strip of the quartz is attached just at the edge of the counter to hide the edge of the plywood and make the whole counter look thicker. For standard 24â deep cabinets, the finished counter width with overhang is typically 25.5.â I donâÂÂt know what brand of quartz you plan to buy, but Caesarstone slabs are 56.5â wide, Hanstone is 55â wide, Silestone is 54âÂÂ, Cambria is 55.â (Some brands sell wider âÂÂjumboâ slabs if you have deeper counters.) Assuming a 55â wide slab, two 25.5â deep counters will use up 51â (plus a small amount of loss in the cutting process), leaving the few inches you need for the edge strips. You should need the same number of slabs whether you use 2cm or 3cm material. The thinner material will cost less, which should offset the increased labor cost for the laminated or mitered edge. I am going to try to attach pictures that show the different types of edges.

How many square feet? We did a condo 30 sf for a single girl $850 cash(green) out the door: she used her drop in stainless steel sink. We even gave her 3cm granite vs 2cm. 1. find out out the door price from 3 real fabricators with a good history of installs. 2. talk them all down! 3. don't settle: get undermount sink: find one on internet: wholesale 18 gauge $100-$150. 60/40 sink stainless steel. 4. post colors they give you: I will tell you what is low: verde ubatuba, butterfly verde, ming gold, some st cecilia gold, some venetian gold, and you can go to the stone yards (pick 3) and ask them if they have orphan slabs for sale or broken slabs for discount. Some granite vendors are running end of the year specials. 5. Ask where seams will go/if any 6. Look at slab before cut: make them show you slab before cut: or while on the cutting table 7. You could get them to buy blanks: $250 each: 106x40 or 120x40: depends (they come from China) home depot sells for $450 now. Pre-fabricated granite 2cm with bull nose edge. to me 39.99 sf means: 2cm low end granite that cost about $6.50 sf at the stone yard & probably that might be a remnant price. Cut outs for stove /if drop-in/ are extra $. Cut outs for sinks undermount or drop-in are extra $. Edging : should not pay extra for that! Get a free estimate: and post what they are "out the door" charging for kitchen. 1/2 down always only! Credit card: best way. get every thing in writing that matters to you. Formica: YUCK! Pink: YUCK!
