C&B Lounge Sofa - srg215? Others?

Do you still love your Lounge sectional or sofa? Do you have a problem with company? It does seem like the perfect hang out sofa, but not so sure visitors will appreciate it. :)

I dont have elderly visitors that often, but we figure we could just bring in small wing chairs from another room when we do.

I been searching for sofas or a sectional for our family room for months. I fell in love with the lounge from Crate and Barrel the first time srg215 posted it. I never in a million years thought DH would like it. Well, we went shopping again yesterday and it is his favorite!

Of course I missed the sale the had recently and the coupon I had expired yesterday. :( I am hoping I can find a discount soon.

I am thinking of going with the Walnut color because I think it will be the easiest to keep clean. I would love a green color but not sure how such a large sectional would look in green!

My room is no where near as large as Srg215's room, but I still think the seating is what we need, even if it will be large in our room. We regularly have two adults, two adult size boys, a teenage girl, and a toddler hanging out in the room (and soon to be another)

It is a lot of money and I am making DH crazy with my indecision on whether to get the sectional, or the sofa and try to find other seating to match. :)

it's still my favorite thing in the house. my parents wanted to get the same one for their house but their room wasn't big enough to accomodate the depth. the older people who visit will sit in chairs that we have or just prop pillows behind their backs. you will need to have a lot of throw pillows around the couch. i was hesitant in my decision too because of how comfortable other visitors may find it, but ultimately decided (and everyone else agreed) that since it's our family mostly using it, we should get the couch that we love. and we do love it as does everyone else that comes here. ours is also in the walnut color.

Just to update, we finally ordered a sectional from Century. It is L shaped with a loveseat on one wall and a sofa length on the other. The good thing is that it is 43" deep so it should be very comfortable to lay on. We chose a chenille type fabric in a greenish tone. We started the room's decor off by picking 2 oriental rugs and pulling colors from that. The sofa comes with 7 throw pillows, so I chose 2 different fabrics for 4 of those. We'll see if it works or not when it comes in! On another note, once we started to choose decor, we realized the color on the walls was pukey and we had to get the painters back to change from blue to brown. I'm so glad we did that. It really warms up a basement room with no windows. The lighting is what made color selection so tricky. Also in there, we got a leather recliner from Hancock & Moore. And the really neat looking Wisteria Barn door coffee table. Funny thing is that when it arrived, it really did smell like a...barn door! Fortunately that smell has disapated.

I think both of those options are of comparable quality. The other thing she should look into is a local furniture dealer that carries Lee Industries upholstery. They have great pieces that are extremely well-made--I spec them often for my clients. Lee Industries furniture is made here in the U.S.--not sure that's true of the others. We bought the C&B Gather sofa plus ottomon in leather last year.. It is the standard depth sofa and we were not able to sit in that poarticular sofa prior to ordining it. We ran into the typical delays due to supply chain issues (7 months). When it was delivered, the delivery guys dropped the sofa in the street and damaged the leather. C&B ordered a replacement (another three months). Both of us hate this sofa! It is very uncomforatable. I am 5'11" and it is too deep to comfortably site upright. The back cushions are not fastened to the sofa in any way so they are constantly slidding down. Even when pushed back, the do not provide good back support. I cannot sit in this sofa more than an hour or so before I get a backache. I wanted a sofa/ottomon combination rather than buying a sectional for the verstility so it really limited my selection of sofas. This was a big mistake. On tiop of that, dealing with C&B sales, customer support and their finance company was a real nightmare that I will never go through again.

I have been happy to see Crate & Barrel bringing back the bumper sectionals. I was seriously considering the Axis bumper sectional, but ended up going with a different brand without a bumper (due to my specific use). Keep in mind that the C&B Lounge is really really deep. 29"! I have a 27" deep Room & Board sectional (with a bumper) and while I do love it, at 5'6" my feet definitely do not touch the ground sitting normally on it. I'm pretty sure 21"-23" seat depth is more "normal". I ordered something with a 24" depth for just a little extra depth for my 6'3" husband's long legs. The outside depth of the Arhaus Kipton is 2" less than the Lounge or you can order it an even shallower size. Just something to keep in mind when you're choosing.

About a month ago I received the Louge 93" sofa in Walnut, and I just received my Lounge 73" Apartment Sofa in Walnut this past weekend. I wanted to do a sofa/loveseat combo and the 73" functions well as a "loveseat" in my space.

I love both couches, however, it seems like the 73" is more sturdy. It seems to sit up higher than the 93", but that could be because it is newer, so I'm giving the cushions a couple of weeks to see how they hold up. I do rotate the cushions weekly. After a few weeks, if the 73" still appears fuller than the 93", then I'm going to contact customer service. I suppose its worth noting that the 73" had to be custom made, while the 93" is considered a stock item.

2002ag - I have read in reviews of a couple of complaints of support on the longer sofa. I hope you dont have any issues.

cat-mom - thanks for the heads up. Not sure I will get a catalog, I sure hope I do. I just went and checked the mail, not today anyway.

If anyone gets one and knows for sure they won't be using it, I would greatly appreciate an email of the code, if you could spare a few minutes rather then throwing it out. I am so anxious to finally order the new sectional before DH changes his mind. :)

Yay! I got my coupon in the mail finally. I can't tell if the restrictions apply to the stock plus items, but I think I will bring it to the store to order.

I'll bet part of the reason the 93" inch one isn't as supportive is that the cushions are much wider. my sectional uses the smaller 32" wide cushions (and we occasionally rotate them). the 93" (grand sofa) has significantly wider cushions (only 2 cushions for the whole 93" sofa).
