Actually, I wasn't. But if dal-tile has Carrara half rounds I'll check them out. That sounds beautiful. I sent you an email this morning, Bill, with a pic of the look I'm shooting for. I'm also wondering if a chair rail type piece wouldn't also work. One "upside down" along the bottom of the mosaic and one right side up along the top to finish off the wainscot. Since the chair rail is so much thicker on the top it's SUPPOSED to stick out from the field tile. Hmmmm... Will go to dal tile.com now to check on the stone half rounds. Hope they're there. Thanks!

This is such a great thread!! I really like the idea of vertical subways and then accent glass tiles running vertically in the shower to simulate the waterfall (I saw metalic ones this way in a video on the HGTV site). I have a small city bathroom so not much room to play with. My mind in dancing around this idea but if I did that then the only 'wow' would be that one vertical stripe within the shower. (All four walls will be tiled since the moisture situation makes this the only real choice so that leaves painting the walls outside the shower not an option.) If I go the traditional horizontal subway tile route with an accent strip all around the whole bathroom then the 'wow' is everywhere but the overall looks isn't as modern as I'd like. I really like the modernness of the vertical layout but how can I incorporate the glass tiles elsewhere besides the one vertical stripe in the shower? Anyone have any creative ideas?

I just had a similar dilemma in my master bath. I ended up tiling to eye level. Lower just didn't look right. Much of this depends on the vanity, mirror, and light fixtures around the sink area. I would not do the 3 foot high around sink then change to eye level border around tub. I would do the vanity area with border at eye level and go all the way around, including the wing wall and tub area. It just seems like you would then be tiling to protect the walls from water splash. Which makes sense.
