Sorry don't have this fridge but do you have a thermometer so you could check the water temp. and see what it actually is or anything in the owners manual covering water temp?

This may not be your problem, but on my KA fridge, you have to run it for a few seconds before it starts coming in cold.

If you're really not getting cold water, get a service call. Don't let them frighten you with threats of charges - you can always refuse to pay if you're in the right - they need to stand by their product.

Water reservoirs and their capacity and location vary among the manufacturers. Some have a small capacity and their cold water supply is quickly exhausted with just a few glasses or so. Some have a much larger supply, but the reservoir isn't located in the fridge. It's a compromise in all situations between storage of food vs. water vs location. Look at your owners manual and check the capacity of your reservoir and it's location before deciding that you have a problem. It may just be working as designed.

As a suggestion: one of the Brita pitchers in the fridge has always been my "ice cold" water to drink. My water in my door dispenser is "chilled" but not ice cold, and if I want ice cold water, I ether add ice or use the Brita.

We just had a Samsung put in a couple of weeks ago. In my opinion the water that comes out of the door is ice cold.
I still add ice, guess just out of habit. I'd call back the service department and see if you get a different answer. I'm a pia when I don't get the answer I want and keep calling til I hear it. :) Good luck!

The tech guy mentioned the resevoir and said that maybe we were using it so frequently that it couldn't keep up---but because the temp of the water isn't great---DH and I never get water from the door. So, on a daily basis, our 6yr old MAY fill a 6 oz cup three times a day AT MOST. I can't imagine that the resevoir would be depleted because of that.

Samsung also (according to the service tech at the 800#) makes no claims as to what the water temp SHOULD BE. I looked for that info in the manual too and couldn't find anything---because I wanted to see what temp we were getting and compare to what Samsung thought should be coming out of there.

Also, could this little problem be caused by a plumbers mistake? I'm just asking because they seemed to mess up everything they touched in our house. I'm not exaggerating. Every cold/hot water line was hooked up backwards, they "tested" our DW after connecting it while all the paperwork was still inside and by the time I went to open up our new DW after moving in...there are more examples but I get angry everytime I think about them!

Have you checked the location of the water line coming into the refrigerator? I'm not familiar with the Samsung but refrigerator compressors put out a lot of heat. So check & make sure that you have the water line as far away from that heat source as possible. It might be that you're filling the water reservoir with water that is way above room/ tap temperature.

LOL...okay, so we're crazy. We pulled out the laser thermometer and had a 6yr old perform an experiment!
Here's what we found:
We took two identical glasses, labeled one for "Tap Water" and one for "Samsung Door" and had family members on hand to fill each glass at the same time

Soooooo, 61.5 degrees SOUNDS really cold. It sure doesn't taste cold! We took the experiment on the road to my in-laws house because I've always loved their water straight from the door. It clocked in at 59 degrees. Yes, they know how crazy we are.

You are not alone in your issues with your fridge. you may be entitled to a refund despite what Samsung initially tells you. Please do not buy a Samsung fridge. Mine leaked 13 months after we bought it. it ruined my floor. it ices up in the back and under the bottom drawer. it ruins food on a regular basis. When you call consumer cares at Samsung, they will tell you it is a warranty issue. That is probably a lie. Samsung fridges have known design defects since 2006 and there are class action suits against them. Search on YouTube for "Samsung fridge recall" and you will find news stories about the thousands who have demanded reparation. if you bought a Samsung fridge, send it back or buy an extended warranty. Or, research other options to get refunded the money stolen from you when Samsung sold you a "lemon".
