Contractor contract question

"Items purchased by the owner and installed by the contractor are assessed a 19% profit and overhead fee"

Is this language typical? Wouldn't this mean I'd be supplying my contractor with receipts? Isn't that backwards?

Say, for example, we decide on a ridiculous $1,000 kitchen faucet instead of the $250 we budgeted-our contractor makes ~$200 on that install instead of ~$50?

I'm fine with paying for installation and allowing profit/overhead-but thinking this all through, this doesn't seem quite right. Is this just the way it is?

Thanks
