Is a Gas Cooktop with Countertop induction burner a good idea?

I am overwhelmed with appliance choices for our new home (building). Capital Culinarian is very appealing to me, as are bluestar and Thermador but I read many more negative reviews about the last two. I definitely want a cooktop and wall ovens (for the convenience of not bending over) but I'm just not sure about induction. Can you get the benefit of induction with a counter-top burner or two? Just to boil water quickly? Also how frequently do you use the 23,000 BTU's that the Culinarian provides, is it worth it? Just to throw it in, I'm open to any advice on wall ovens and refrigerators too. I thought I was sold on Thermador Cooktop and Dacor Refrigerator until I found this website, now I'm more confused than ever!

Thanks!
